Obama says we aren't as divided as some may think

He is of course promoting unity. Personally, I think there's a lot of resentment out there, but no more than before. The problem is the intensity on the extremes.

No. He is just a moron. He blew his chance at promoting unity when he called out that police officer for messing with his homie professor and turned out to be totally wrong.

He had a platform that no one else has ever had and he pissed away the opportunity to make a positive step. He has done a lot more wrong than right toward this situation.

Race relations are worse now than they been in at least 25 years and I would possibly go back further to the 60/70s. He's done nothing but fan the flames.

In all seriousness, I doubt people actually feel any differently than they did 30 years ago. Social media just happens to be the bookmark of this decade, and word travels faster than it ever has before (hence the elaborate, nationwide protests and the like.) But it's not like we've been in a 50 year dry spell since the civil rights movement. This same s*** happened in the 1990's. There just weren't #BLM hashtags plastered all over the media.

understatement of epic proportions.

Unfortunately though, he is going to move into a swanky DC neighborhood and commute to his new community organizing gig. I prefer to call him The Herpes President.

It's more than just social media, there's serious money flowing through these protest groups all over the world. I can't link right now but zerohedge had an article about Soros financing these groups. The amount he gave BLM is astounding, so this unrest isn't going away anytime soon.

I think there's a lot of truth in that.

It must just be coincidence that most of the biggest civil rights issues/protests/violent clashes happen when Democrats are in charge...yeah..total coincidence.....

No he's not. By acting like the shootings are bad shootings without the investigation being completed, he is furthering the gap of unity.

yes, especially when he goes out of his way to never say 'radical' Islam, or ever suggest that there might actually be a problem with people who practice that ideology. Even when the facts are in.

officer involved shooting? Default position is race motivated and police brutality.

Oh, and then uses the 12 officers shot as a platform for gun control.

Most divisive president of my lifetime.
