I was watching. He said that it may not seem that way but he planted the seed of "more equality". Interesting way to say it. He honestly does not see the divide. He has been cooped up in the white house, golf and travel to truly know that it isn't better. At all.

He also said the MN incident involved a licensed gun. That seems to be a point of contention so to say it as fact as the President is shameful and proves his role in the disconnect.

He is of course promoting unity. Personally, I think there's a lot of resentment out there, but no more than before. The problem is the intensity on the extremes.

No he's not. By acting like the shootings are bad shootings without the investigation being completed, he is furthering the gap of unity.

You can rag on Obama all you want, but his job as President is to alleviate fear and anxiety, so he kind of has to say something like this. He's not going to say "OMG! RACE WAR!!!!". LOL

I agree that he could be more circumspect about that, but again, he has to be even handed. He can't just say one side has all the claim to outrage.

But he's doing just that. He'll read of names of one side but not the other. It's sad to be honest.
