Obama admin has done a good job managing the economic crisis of Bush

Those people should be transient (pardon the irony). They should work at McDs until they get some education that will allow them to get a better job. If not... well, somebody has to be on the bottom. I just wish they wouldn't procreate to further burden society.

We've already established that for many people this is the best job they can hold down.

Actually, no. Constitutionally it could be more effectively argued that the military is a government responsibility. Public education, not so much.

Everything about the military is socialized, so I have no clue what you're even arguing.

Then they need to be responsible and not have children, not smoke weed, not spend all their money on beer... cable TV... rims for their Escalade, etc etc etc. Success in life is not guaranteed, but you make your own breaks and dig your own holes to fall in too. Some people in life are just dealt a ****ty hand, and that's too bad. But it is not my responsibility to have the .gov steal money from me to support those people. Sorry, but life is just not fair. I want to buy a Hawai'ian island, but my name is not Larry Ellison. Maybe he should be forced to buy one for me.

Why can't they afford them? Because they dropped out of junior high school and can't get anything but slinging fries at McD's? And they chose to have 4 or 5 kids? I'm paying for their housing, their kids' education (if THEY are bright enough to continue to go to school), their health care, their cigarettes and booze...

So why is that MY problem? I work hard for my money. Why is it so much to ask to let me keep more of it?

Surely you don't really think this way......I drive through the projects at least twice a week just to see my money at work

Another wealth income disparity article by a liberal blowhard, disband all corporations immediately and put the employees on welfare and snap benefits..

Yeah, that and an exhibition of class envy. My CEO makes a lot of money. Good for him. I didn't check that block on my application. The rub would come if he were taking money out of the owners' pockets, which he isn't. I am also a shareholder which is not something I would normally do, but I am also a student of the industry and he is doing by far the best job. It pays off for me in the value of the investment. I have no complaints.

You are right, the article mentioned is another liberal blowhard whinefest.

I think it just points out the fact that taxes are not preventing these companies from doing anything. It's an excuse that does have merit but shouldn't be the end all be all answer to every problem our country has.

Also I don't see how pointing out the practice of paying CEOs 400x their workers is always considered "class envy."

I got through the first three paragraphs. Another socialist manifesto. Everyone that works at any company that is talked about benefits from tax breaks.

"There’s this wacky theory that if governments excuse corporations from paying their share, then they’ll expand and create jobs. It’s wacky because it’s fiction. Highly profitable corporations aren’t expanding and creating jobs; they’re buying back their own stock.

A study by University of Massachusetts professor William Lazonick, president of the Academic-Industry Research Network, showed that between 2003 and 2012, S&P 500 corporations used 54 percent of their earnings – $2.4 trillion – to buy their own stock.

This isn’t creating jobs. This isn’t investing in a corporation’s future. This is adding to CEO wealth. It works like this: Stock buybacks push up stock prices. Forty-two percent of compensation for S&P 500 CEOs comes from stock options. Thus, as Lazonick points out, stock increases equal CEO pay raises."

Can you point out the socialist part of this article genius?

There's a reason why the President is paid more than a Representative and why a General is paid more than a corporal. Once you reach a certain point in the organizational hierarchy, your skillset is specialized to the point where there are very few who can do your job.

Leadership should earn more.

Yet an oil tycoon just recently said that while he was getting paid millions as a CEO he really wasn't doing that much. That's obviously not the standard, but really I have no problem with someone getting 400x their average worker. Just don't f'in complain about having to pay taxes and trying to make that the reason for all of our countrys job growth problems. Simple fact is that we will never have enough jobs to employ 350 million people and to also pay then a wage that keeps them from being on welfare. Unless we do away with paying one person 400x what you pay everyone else in that company. So if you want to let companies pay no taxes and also do anyway with the min wage.; don't ***** about welfare.

The captain of a ship doesn't "do much" either, but when a problem arises, everybody looks to him to solve the problem.

Since we're kvetching about taxes, how about the left stops *****ing and moaning every time a corporation uses legal means to reduce it's tax burden.

How about this, how about both of them do their jobs and do away with the whole damn thing.

How many people do you employ? If your company can save a few million a year by moving to India, Mexico, or China why would you stay in the US? You sound butthurt that you're not a CEO. All about that wealth distribution huh lib?

I'm all for the elimination of income and corporate taxes in favor of a consumption-based tax system.

No person intent on making more money would. That doesn't mean I would want to get rid of the min wage. It's a tough subject, but like I said don't blame taxes for companies not paying workers more or hiring more workers. That's the point of the article and that's pretty much what I've been discussing.

Wealth distribution? I don't see how paying a worker more could be considered wealth distribution. Seeing as that individual is working. I'm butthurt about more and more Americans being poor and living on welfare. So eventually we will have to address it by doing something other than throwing money at them. All about being a redneck huh redneck?
