I had an awesome time. While I didn't get autographs,I walked around taking pictures. I noticed a few things that was good to see. The first was what it was like to be on the field. Never been on it before. Was cool I must say.
The main thing that impressed me was Da'Rick Rogers, you guys say everything you can to make this kid look bad.IMO your all idiots. I didn't see JH stay and take a couple extra photos with kids after it was over. I also over heard him tell security he wasn't gonna leave until he took a picture he promised a man with his newborn. Guess what he did what he said he would do. And signed a lot of stuff as he exited.
All in all I think this team can be very good. We have great size and pretty good speed. Tiny is a MAN and DT isn't small either. I think with the improvement made between the end of last year and this year is night and day.
At the end of the day I'm grateful to be a Volunteer and with a little luck we may be headed to ATL. Good luck Vols :loco:

I've always thought that Da'Rick Rogers got a raw deal on the message boards. To my knowledge, there have been nothing but rumors of him causing problems. The people calling him a cancer have no idea what really goes on in the locker room. I'm guessing most of it is just stuff blown way out of proportion.

It is what it is..... But I personally thought it was very classy of Da'Rick when JH just walked by kids saying nothing to them. He could have at least said hello to them. Instead he acted as though he didn't care. Mrs.Hunter is a class act though and a very nice lady. I had a great time.

So let's go ahead and start the JH to georgia st. rumors. Some of you are too sensitive and read way too much into things. VN is the most paranoid fanbase alive. Give jhunt a break, Dayum!

I heard JHunt telling a crowd of kids that Santa Claus was dead and that they were all adopted.

As long as Santa brings me a healthy JH for the season, I could care less how many kids he talks to.

I thought DaRick was very nice the times that we saw him. He waved over to our section a couple of times before the game started. As they were going into the tunnel at halftime he stopped and talked with my son.

Not to be out done, but JH signed both of my kid's jersey's. He was great too. Our kids didn't get any signatures during the meet and greet due to the crazy long line. So it was great what DR and JH did, they just made a couple of kids vols for life....

Awesome for the kids. If it was for an adult It wouldn't matter to me as much. Also glad JH took the time to do it. I was actually taken off guard that he left the field as quickly. So if I came across as trying to make him look bad, that wasn't the mission. I think they are both awesome and we are VERY lucky to have both of them.

Well, I just got home from the game ... I guess you all are done talkin about it by now. I was sitting so high up I couldn't hardly tell who was who in the middle of the trenches.

But of the ones who had not got too much press this spring, I was most impressed by Justin Coleman and Tom Smith -- those two are still competing to get some time on the field.

Was Coleman the one that caught DR and kept him from the TD?

And FWIW, nobody here is ever done talking about anything. :) There's always more to say.

Right, It's all about the kids. To be honest I wonder if Hunter was trying to slip out that end of the stadium to avoid the crowd when we ran in to him. He and his mother were extremely nice and patient with everyone. I have no idea what it must be like for him, TB, DR, etc to have to deal with the constant barage of fans wanting autographs, but we really appreciated that they did stop and sign for our kids. Before we ran into Justin, Palardy was oustide and was signing a few autographs, some lady jumps in front of my son to get his autograph, I was like really?? If I were an athelete I'd be kids first, you grown ups I'll get to you last...

Yep, I understand it was Coleman who made that play and later stripped the ball when DR was struggling for extra yards at other end of the field. And he may have lead all tacklers with 6 or so.

When that play happened, I told my husband...Somebody wanted to stop the TD more than somebody wanted to make it. I like it!!!

I liked that we had some hustle and want too. Da'Rick getting run down was effort and purely positive. Also the strip of Da'Rick was awesome as well. Da'Rick fighting for extra and the desire to make a play by Coleman. I was sitting there right in front of where it happened and the ball was tight and had it tucked. All in all this team is clearly better then last season. It will only be better once Hunter is back on the field. Throw in the possibility of Patterson,Pig Croom and Bowles playing significant time and there will be match up problems for any defense we play including Bama. I have a good feeling about this years squad. The OL impressed me with there size and athletic ability. They should improve by fall as a whole.
