This is where we win or lose this game. We are beat up on the Oline and Bama is fast and strong. If DeBord starts conservative and doesn't have plays that are designed to slow down their rush.....it could be a long day.

I agree, almost all of the injuries have been on the defense for whatever reason. The offense needs to step up tomorrow to make up for this, it is really on them and the Oline specifically if UT is going to win. I personally feel they can do it, get it a rhythm early and set the pace.

Also, UT has won the toss and waited to after halftime to get the ball for the last three games (or the other team takes it to start). If Bama wins the toss tomorrow, I expect them to defer.... I know I would if I were them. That way it is harder for UT to stage a comeback if needed in the 3rd. Hopefully UT wins the toss tomorrow.

Also...water is wet.

J/K, this is where the game will be won. Both O and D line. On the counter if our D line is man handled and Bama rushes well...it will be a long day. Our LB's and DB's have struggled stopping the run for short yardage. (Yes I said DB's) they are pivotal on stretch runs which DE's can blow up.

starts up front on both sides of the ball...gotta control the LOS...sets up the whole game plan...I know, easier said than done...:peace2:

PS...of course a few Bama turnovers wouldn't hurt either...:)

GO VOLS...BEAT BAMA!

I'm afraid this ones going to be ugly. If we continue to turn the ball over at the rate we've been doing it- Bama by 17-21.

Robertson was good to play last time I saw an update. Thomas hasn't been a drop off at C.

UT has faced two very good front 7's so far and VT is looking better all the time. From a "playing hurt" standpoint, UT has some guys hurting. From a cohesion standpoint, UT's OL is still approaching their apex.

UT cannot win while fumbling the ball.

UT may not be able to win unless Dobbs takes some chances in the passing game... which could mean a pick or two.

There will be no Crimson left in the stadium mid way through the 4th

Through five games- we've trailed midway through the fourth quarter in 4 of them. I applaud your optimism but TN needs a solid 4 quarters of play. Go down 21 to Bama and there's no miracle comeback.

This is the game UT puts it all together and really gets in the playoff conversation.

UT can't fumble or drop bunches of passes.... but Arkansas and Ole Miss passed for over 400 yds vs Bama and they've yet to face a running QB in Dobbs' class this year.

Dobbs just needs to make good decisions. Last game he had a wide open TE across the middle but instead went deep with an incompletion. Of course he had the pick in OT. He also needs to throw the ball away and not take these huge losses when he's sacked. But I agree we need to go deep, with Bryd.

We've heard that for the last 5 games and honestly, we've played sloppier and worse as we've progressed. GA shouldn't have been close and we had the talent to beat A&M by 10-14 easily.

Pull it together and beat Bama... yeah we'd be in playoff consideration. Nothing suggests however that this week is going to be "the week." Not being negative- but there's a reason Alabama has won 18 straight games.

Agree. Dobbs running has given Bama fits earlier in past seasons. He has a tendency however to not run Dobbs until we're down 14-21 points in the second half.

I think they've been trying to save Dobbs from injury but given Dormandy can beat the remaining 5 teams on the schedule we need to run Dobbs early and often.

If this is our OLine tomorrow, I am not concerned

LT: Kendrick
LG: Robertson
C: Thomas
RG: Jones
RT: Hall

Thomas filled in very well last week, and appears to be healthy.

Good points. But would you consider, at this point, that Dobbs is quite as good at passing as Kelly and Allen? I know Dobbs has improved but both of those guys are passing pretty well. Also, OM WRs are just sick. It seems like those guys can win any match with any DB.

I think Dobbs is going to have to carry this offense on his back again for us to win.

All good points. IMO, the injuries are what is going to play the biggest factor. I truly believe we have the talent to beat Alabama when healthy. But our injury situation is borderline dire for this game.
