NYC to offer comprehensive healthcare to residents

The entire population of Buffalo could buy tickets to the Indy 500 and barely fill it.

Upstate NY is like the rest of the rust belt. You can buy gorgeous early 20th century mansions in Albany (which is not a bad city) for a song.

This will dovetail nicely with Cuomo’s plan to expand Medicaid to illegals. My guess is Cuomo doesn’t let this get by without some tax increases.

New York sucks. They are all moving here etc. etc etc

If I interpret you correctly, you were inferring that the posters are jealous of New York and feel inferior. What makes you think that? A derision for socialism, ridicule of its implementation, and belief that its implementation will bleed NYC dry? That makes you think the posters are jealous and feel inferior?

You do realize that there is a state which goes by the name New York, as well as a city, correct?
Wow really, amazing!

I simply posted the first article I could find on a quick google search. I did not have time to drill down to NYC alone.

I wish these mayors and governors who champion sanctuary cities/states could start being charged with murder every time an illegal killed a citizen

This sounds like a win-win for the New York hospitals. Instead of jacking up everyone's bill that has insurance to pay for the immigrants that go to the ER for a snotty nose they get to turn them away and tell them to see their primary care doc. Of course they will still charge exorbitant fees, they'll just pocket the rest and the tax payers once again funnel money out their pockets to a government sponsored entity.

Yes.

me, but at a higher rate than I did before ACA
In my view, that's why that "who was paying for it before?" logic breaks down.

We were paying it before through taxes. Now, we're still paying the same amount of taxes, yet our own insurance coverage also skyrocketed as well.

And yet the population continues to grow.

The population is growing but not in an affluent way.

Our country does have a serious healthcare issue.

I have a good friend who owns a medical supply company and he has to actually rate stuff up so when the insurance companies only pay a portion the suppliers still make a bundle on the margins.

A ton of expenses in this county is administrative which is code for executive pay and unnecessary layers of payroll.

There needs to be a fix but I don’t trust the government.

I think anyone in the health industry should be forced to give all profits to their insureds over 1 time gross operating as a refund on premiums. That would be a start.

I have a question for your friend, or anyone in the industry.

How do the charges grow so much for medical equipment? My example:

Back in November my ortho gave me a boot to see if my ankle issues might clear up. Got the explanation of benefits from my insurance company and here's how it broke down...

Ortho office charged $347 for the boot. Insurance company said actually per our agreed costs you can only charge $250( something around that). And my insurance covered the agreed percentage and I paid the rest.

I looked up that exact same brand/features boot on Amazon and I could have bought it for 50 bucks.

Left out the part that includes paying for the healthcare of what's thought to be 300 thousand illegals in NYC! (which I'm sure will drastically go up with this news)

How do libs/dems just accept this as okay? Do they no longer care about being an American? Are we seeing the beginning led by Democrats of a one World system? That we aren't American citizen's anymore but a global citizen and that's why they don't want sovereign borders?

It's bad enough we are seeing the willing and happily implementation of socialism in the United States by elected officials but the fact they fall all over themselves to help people who aren't American citizen's and aren't supposed to be here period!
