Many have posted the basic logic with this one.
If DW signs with UGA it will be kept quiet by the UGA staff, and the Vols staff will respect his decision because they have some class.
If DW signs with Vols or anyone else then Kirby will leak it out of spite.
Has a recruit ever sent a LOI fax to multiple schools? Does the fastest fax machine win? Does it matter if one of them is signed "mickey mouse"?
I have no doubt AV has legit insider info as he has known several things only one would know and came to fruition. I just think he got overly cocky on this one thinking no way this kid could be playing each side and was only playing everyone else. I get the national media doesn’t know everything but there are way too many people for months saying UGA. At some point there would have been a slip if it was a game and not legitimate interest. There is that 1 or 2 kids each yr that sort of pulls the rug out from underneath staffs/boosters that made them feel like they had them then BAM reality hits. If the kid is smart enough to pull off this master troll plan then I will be happy but I just find it hard to believe the UGA talk/love is or was ever fake.
If he goes to UGA it shouldn’t be oh AV doesn’t know anything. It should be he trusted/believed what he was being told. Kids tell coaches and boosters same things all the time because they don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings or they like a few staffs and find it hard to tell all but one NO.
because of the staff continuity at Clemson, they did a phenomenal job of developing their players.I knew Clemson wasn't hitting Top 5 classes until they broke into the CFP... but I was surprised by how "poor" their recruiting actually was.
Composite ranking since Dabo Swinney's first year:
2010: #27, ACC #3
5 4*, average rating .85
2011: #10, #2
3 5*, 6 4*, average rating .87
2012: #20, #3
8 4*, average rating .89
2013: #15, #3
1 5*, 8 4*, average rating .88
2014: #16, #3
11 4* (one was Desean Watson, this is when they started their move up), average rating .88
2015: #9, #2
3 5*, 9 4*, average rating .89
2016: #11, #2
1 5*, 12 4*, average rating .90
2017: #16, #3 (class with Tee Higgins and Amari Rogers)
2 5*, 8 4*, average rating .92
2018: #7, #1 (first time they've had the top class in the ACC in total points)
5 5*, 7 4*, average rating .93
Their early classes were largely normal sized at 20-25 commits with their later classes being small, usually around 20 commits. Still, they only brought in a total of 7 5* players in the first 7 years. Pruitt is closing out his 2nd class and looking at potentially 3, if DW signs.
i think at the end of the day, be it Metal, AV, LA or whoever...they only post information that they have at a given time.I have no doubt AV has legit insider info as he has known several things only one would know and came to fruition. SCAR actually did well yesterday. They had 3 top 100 players if Burch actually signs. That’s not bad. Compare it to UF, who had only 2. UF had to sign WR and RB in this class, they struck out on both. They have one WR, #32. Leonard Manuel won’t make it in the class, and they didn’t sign a RB, they could have had EJ Smith at minimum. UT needed DL and did very well there, hit their mark.Because SCAR was keeping up...

I would compare it to a college basketball team full of upperclassmen that have played together for 3 or 4 years. They have good fundamentals and development. More times than not, they will beat a team full of 1 and done players.
But does DW have to tell anyone if he's signed? He's waivered between signing early and waiting. What if he signed early but told the other staff he was waiting to sign? Just one way I could see him possibly keeping the secret until he announces on Jan. 2.
Wasn't the conversation. Someone was making UGA out as unbeatable due to their superior recruiting, thus the mention to SCAR being able to beat them without recruiting at the same level.SCAR actually did well yesterday. Maybe, but it would allow him to keep his secret. Any coach who took that from him would be immature AF as well.
Not sure about that, but they have sent financial aid paperwork to multiple ones and made schools tweet out incorrect commitment tweets. Clemson and Michigan both have.Has a recruit ever sent a LOI fax to multiple schools? Does the fastest fax machine win? Does it matter if one of them is signed "mickey mouse"?
Good post. I’ve said it before, college coaches are the LAST sources I listen to. They only know what they are being told. Recruits tell coaches what they want to hear. 1. Family/friends around recruits 2. HS coach(es) 3. Recruiting services (they use the first two FYI) 4. Teammates 5. Magic black ball 6.
