I can't imagine why GA would seem so confident with Washington unless it is just plain old pride on their part. IMO, If he ends up being a Dawg, something negative will have happened w/him and TN between today and next Weds... and I don't see that occurring. I just can't see him bringing his family with him this time and visiting here 5 times previously just to troll TN for GA.

The Vols feel good about their standing with 5-star tight end Darnell Washington coming off his final official visit. The Las Vegas native’s family, who made both the unofficial trip in October and this weekend’s official visit, really like Knoxville and have bonded well with Brian Niedermeyer and Jeremy Pruitt. Georgia, Alabama, and Miami, are all pushing for the nation’s No. 17 prospect but this has long shaped up to be a UGA-Tennessee battle, with Miami a dark horse team.

The feeling here is interesting in that both Tennessee and UGA have real confidence in landing Washington. Neither have lined up any backup plans should they fail to land the Under Armor All-American. Still, much like the Quavaris Crouch coup a year ago, the Vols are optimistic they will land the 5-star talent.

Update: I have some really good news here. I was told that the long distant factor isn’t going to be a problem. You see, I was told that Henry Tootoo and Darnell had a private meeting with the coaches today. Darnell wanted to know how HT was doing it from California, or how he was handling it with his family. I heard after the meeting, that Darnell was really satisfied about H Tootoos situation. Ladies and gentleman, I think we’re in a great situation here. Pruitt and the coaching staff knows how to deal with long distance factors.

Lol his finalists are basically UGA, UT, and Miami. Of course distance isn’t a factor.

So his final 3 schools are UGA, Bama, and UT and all of a sudden there is a distance concern? Do not see how this post was, or is, relevant. Also, do not see where distance would be a difference maker between either of those schools.

What I’m saying is that , it isn’t a factor at all, and HT was a huge factor about the campus, family situation, and how the vols are all family. HT explained to him how to handle the family situation with what the coaches will do for the family.
