It comes down to (as always) how honest the kid is being. Everything has gone as said, so far. But when "as said" includes playing the game..🤷‍♂️

This post will get lost in the riff raff, but people fail to understand these recruits tell everybody what they want to hear.

Somehow insiders and coaches are supposed to be able to tell when a recruit is lying to them. If they are wrong on something a fickle 17-18 year old tells them they get crucified.

Yep.

Will say that I still believe we have some of the best on the trail. But kids are kids and there's a lot of really shiny teams out there. More so than 5 years ago. We definitely start each race as the underdogs and that's why I truly appreciate every blue chip we pull off.
Along with the ability to identify overlooked talent.

Given time, we might just end up fairly shiny ourselves. Then it's really on.

The Las Vegas (Nev.) Desert Pines standout heads back to Knoxville this weekend, a place he’s been numerous times including earlier this fall. I view the Vols as the sleeper in this recruitment but believe that Georgia comes into the weekend with a significant lead. Alabama and Miami have been near the top for Washington much of the cycle as well with Florida being the fifth school that got an official visit. The 6-foot-7 1/2, 260-pound Washington is the No. 1 athlete and No. 10 prospect overall in the 247Sports Composite
