Numbers for the new guys

Call me biased, but I don't want our starting QB (maybe, maybe not) to wear 19. Just looks weird for a QB imo

What the ... ? :eek:hmy:

I grew up seeing John Hadl wear that number in the NFL. So, I assumed Shuler chose to wear it as a salute to him.

But any other number in the 20s on a QB? Yeah, that might be weird.

How about #60 for Otto Graham?

If anyone can add to the list, I'll edit it.

Alontae Taylor 6
Greg Emerson 90
Bryce Thompson 22
Dominick Wood-Anderson 16 (?)
Jordan Allen 8
Emmitt Gooden 93
Jerome Carvin 75
Jeremy Banks 33
Jahmir Johnson 72
J.T. Shrout 12
Keller Chryst 19
Jacob Warren 87
Tanner Antonutti 52 (?)
John Mincey ??
Ollie Lane 78
Trevon Flowers 25
Kurott Garland 99
Kingston Harris 51
Cedric Tillman 4 (?)
Brandon Davis 29
Kenneth George 13 (?)
Paxton Brooks 37
Madre London 31

I know George is wearing 41... 16 is retired so I’m not sure what Wood-Anderson will wear

FWIW I think permanently retiring numbers in college is ridiculous. As a fan you grow up watching these guys play and wanting to be like them and that one day you finally make it to college you can't even wear the number of your favorite player growing up.

I understand putting the number up all around the stadium etc. But completely retiring it to me is silly.

Vols take very few out of circulation. UNC basketball has a rafter full of numbers...that’s way overkill.

Actually Tennessee didn't do it at all until after Reggie White died. But when his HS, the Eagles, and the Packers decided to retire 92 all at the same time, somebody forced the issue and they changed their policy of not retiring numbers.

I wish they had stood firm, but it seems that is just me.
