Number of OU fans at game

I have to say, this has been some of the most hysterical pregame smacktalk I think I've ever seen. Let's recap:
1. OU fans are talking big about destroying your checkered stadium. (Wooooo...fighting words--I'm pretty sure your checker pattern will be just fine)
2. Tennessee fans are upset about OU players/coaches talking about your fans?? (Please find that quote, pretty sure a Tenn beat writer made it up) Eric Striker did make a comment or 2 about the SEC in general that apparently everyone mistook for UT. His point was the game is between us and Tennessee, not the whole conf. And Bob said that OU has played in front of loud stadiums before. (This is true but not necessarily the current team; I think crowd noise will be a problem) But that's about it.
3. Land thieves is mean. It sort of prides itself on crossing the line. For some reason, opposing fans always migrate to that board. All of us who understand grammar and went to prom with a non-relative use other boards. (Ok, so I may have a user name on there and have posted 5 or 6 times...and she was my third cousin)
4. I laughed at the OU fans who double posted the ND pic. They are sadly mistaken if they think Neyland is like ND stadium. Again, see #1. It's bad when smack talk is reduced to threatening to mess up your stadium's color pattern. (Jared Herd is gonna run over Eric Striker's *** all day!! Oh yeah? Well, we are gonna screw up your little apparel based checkerboard)

All said, OU and UT are made up of 99% Really great fans who are decent and know football. Unfortunately, the 1% left over consists of several thousand people...

Striker said he'd never heard of Alvin Kamara and said Jalen Hurd is just another running back. Soooo correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that was directed at UT.

Big yabos, tiny waste, blonde hair, and a firm righteous booty. Gon' ahead and spend your time down at the cha-cha palace though if you prefer....

Uhh yeah. Exactly what I think of. Not. Been to Oklahoma. About 17 too many times. The middle of this country might as well be BFE, and the females lag so far behind every other region, as far as averages go.

I'm convinced you're in the aptly named Big12 conference, because a) it is a league made up of misfits that don't fit anywhere else, and b) all your women wear a dress size Big-12. The fact that you only have 10 teams leads me to believe this is a correct theory. The other theory is that it is the cornbelt and nothing makes sense there, including simple arithmetic.

I'm sure that you are familiar with the concept of short **** syndrome; I believe that it accurately describes the collective mindset of the Johnny-come-lately powers. Programs that have been strong for a long period of time, even if they may have recently hit a rough patch, tend to take victory in stride. And, too, it may be easier to be gracious in defeat when it isn't something with which you have had a lot of experience historically. The Johnny-come-lately powers, on the other hand, tend to overcompensate and exercise a conveniently shallow sense of historicity.

By the way, what was your impression of Florida State fans? They came to power about the same time as Miami but don't seem to be as incorrigibly difficult as Miami or Florida fans. And, for that matter, what are TCU and Baylor fans like? Are they starting to get "a little too big for their britches," based solely on recent success?

Speaking only on Baylor fans, they are the kind I hate the worst. ***** and moan because they feel like they should get the same respect as programs that spent decades earning it. Non-stop, in your face talking during the 4 years they have been good after being the absolute doormats for as long as the Big-12 has been around. It's the fakest of fake, for god sakes the entire wall that surrounds the field of their brand new stadium that looks like high cost brick is a freaking tarp made to look like brick. Yet they tell you the place is the new cathedral of CF.

Damnt, all the smack talking football was fine, but you had to go and insult our women. Where is the line draw? Hasn't anyone ever told you, fat women need love to!

LOL!!!! OK produces Miss Americas at a rate second only to California. I was born and raised there and the women there are ridiculous. OK is a blonde bombshell factory second to none. Go be teh ghey tho.......

Meh, I went to Norman last year and there were a lot of Vol fans there, didn't effect their striping much so I doubt they have much effect on the checker board.

that ugly UF blue stood out last season

I get to travel the country for work and I have seen some nice looking ladies in just about every state. I was in Tulsa about 4 years ago and there were a several nice looking ladies at customer facility where I was training.

I will say Oklahoma has a good drag racing crowd though.

As much as I want a win today, I can't find hate or contempt for OU or their fans. I guess I hate Texas and Nebraska too much to not kind of like OU. Hopefully, we win big, and they go on to win the rest of their games.

I remember when Cal came in #12 vs #23 Vols and they had a big time Heisman candidate running back. I remember the quotes after the game. They were something like "It was static noise, nothing that can be replicated in practice" and "It was the loudest stadium we have ever visited, you could not even scream a play into another players ear and them hear it". I only hope this game is reminiscent of that one.

One of my biggest memories of this was the class of the fanbase before and after their loss. Probably the best fans I ever met that had just been upset and drummed in front of 100k+. I have not had that same feelings about the Oklahoma fans I have been around. I used to have a lot of respect for their fans and their program but after everything I have read and that has been said by their fans, players and coach they are now just simply a team I want to watch lose every week.....much like USC and Notre Dame in my book. Sure some of you guys on here are cool but those I have met in person plus the keyboard ninjas need to realize the environment their sooners are walking into.

I want this one worse than ever.

There may be 20k in Knoxville but won't be more than 10k in the stadium. When you have 105k in stadium 10 is very minimal. It's about the same for every SEC game but for some reason OU fans think this is an aberration. It's simply not.

Oh we smack talkin?
I hear roads on OK have potholes.
Yeah I said it. Anyone has a problem with it,
we can meet at the waffle house. But I'm not paying!
Ok, maybe Dutch but that's it. Well, I guess I can get the tip.

Eh. They'll have 10k or so. That's normal for a marquee matchup.

Better than Alabama playing a neutral site game in Neyland every year since 2008.

And we all know this is due to the extremely high number of bandwagon fans! It is absolutely disgusting! I will die bleeding orange! It will not be long now....that most of them put the orange back on!

Just show up. Nuff said

Travis, what's it like as a player on gameday, leading up to games like this? How do you keep your adrenaline under control? As a fan I'm pumped out of my mind, I can't even imagine what it'd be like going to play in an environment like tonight.

Everyone is so quick to forget the Friday before last years game. All was calm and pretty respectable the entire week, up until Friday and Saturday. Fans start getting riled up, sensitive and things get a little feisty. Isn't that passion the reason we love college football. This isn't Cal your playing and we understand we aren't playing a Baylor. You are Tennessee and we are Oklahoma there is a level of mutual respect that both have earned. Every fan base has those people that make a bad name for the entire base, but the majority of us give respect where respect is due. And the VOLS have earned it. I wish we could play you guys every year, it's been a lot of fun this week and I have enjoyed your board. I'm sure the game will be follow suit and be a blast to watch.

Not much sleep. And the adrenaline is beyond anything one can experience. To control it, we apply what we have trained for, so Everything is pretty much auto pilot. The plays, your placement, everything is auto pilot in the beginning. After the first play everything is tuned out and your zoned in. It's just us and the scoreboard.
