Number of OU fans at game

Man I leave this board just to drive over from Nashville and things go to hell in a hand bag. Sitting on the houseboat now and I can hardly wait for tomorrow.

Haha things started with a few Sooners on here and a lot of intelligent and respectful discussion and then the keyboard warriors came out and that was just about that. Now we have the most disrespectful fan base in sports lol.

Well, most of us aren't like that ArSenalSooner. I hope you have one hell of a time tomorrow! :)

Naw getting close to game time.. Tensions are rising..

We travel well, just like ya'll do. The fans look forward to going to great venues, which Neyland is. The drive isn't bad and we know it'll be a great game. I wish we could do a 2 game series every 15-20 years. I know there were 15-20k at Notre Dame, so I'm not surprised there are a lot of Sooners there.

Enjoy your trip and be safe. East Tn is a beautiful place in autumn.

There's always one or two posters from every team we play that are great, and usually stuck around for a while afterwards. But as you stated, most begin to wear out their welcome around this time of the week every year.

Understand and my apologies, jumped the gun on the joke. I've read enough on VN to see how how you could all be on edge with OU fans. You guys seemed to have gotten all the really good ones.

20K won't happen at Neyland maybe during the Dooley years but not happening tomm

20k happened at ND after their title run. OU fans will find the tickets and there will be at least 20k. As you will see tomorrow your stadium won't be checkered worth a damn with OU in town.

Thank you for the fine announcement there, Bill Callahan. I knew you were canned at Nebraska.

500 UF fans??? at Neyland?? Good GAWD...the audacity!

I take all of this with a grain of salt. Ya wanna get rowdy, huh?? We know rowdy! Work your way on down to Commerce Street in Dallas before an OU-Texas game and wear some orange, any orange. Then you'll see rowdy. LOL

Based on how you and fellow Sooner fans have described Texas fans, BudBarry, Florida fans most definitely are the SEC equivalent of Texas fans. They have earned the disdain of Tennessee fans and many other fan bases due to their palpably thick air of snobbish condescension.

LOL. Look, I'm just a run of the mill, country person. Football is a fabulous sport. It can bring people together that otherwise wouldn't piss on each other if the other was on fire. Don't get us wrong, there are some level-headed, know their football Longhorn fans, just the same as VOL fans, Sooner fans, Husker fans, etc. But for the life of me, I can't understand why some fan bases feel like they are blue bloods, like TN and OU when they have only been mutts for most of their sorry existance. Hell, I like Texans...as long as they stay south of the Red River.

From what I saw on the elevator earlier this evening, they can fill the stadium. My son asked if that is what a MILF is and I had to say, yes son, it is.

I don't know for sure, but my guess is that no tickets were returned. They were only $105 so not even as expensive as texas tickets. There will be more fans than most who post on this thread want. I'm here because I have wanted to see Neyland since the 70's. I am puzzled as to why most posters on this site have such contempt for Oklahoma and our fan base. It might be that you don't realize how condescending most of the posts are. All fan bases have their fare share of young caustic posters, but very few show any respect for Oklahoma football or their fans. I am obviously not a young buck if I remember Johnny Majors coaching Tennessee. If I had not come to Volnation I might still have my warm fuzzy feeling about coming here, but I did, so I don't. Regardless of the outcome of the game, I think I may have lost the only sec team that didn't turn my stomach.

Well, bless your heart.

And somehow this is not your own fanbase's fault?

I'm sure that you are familiar with the concept of short **** syndrome; I believe that it accurately describes the collective mindset of the Johnny-come-lately powers. Programs that have been strong for a long period of time, even if they may have recently hit a rough patch, tend to take victory in stride. And, too, it may be easier to be gracious in defeat when it isn't something with which you have had a lot of experience historically. The Johnny-come-lately powers, on the other hand, tend to overcompensate and exercise a conveniently shallow sense of historicity.

By the way, what was your impression of Florida State fans? They came to power about the same time as Miami but don't seem to be as incorrigibly difficult as Miami or Florida fans. And, for that matter, what are TCU and Baylor fans like? Are they starting to get "a little too big for their britches," based solely on recent success?

I was actually referring to the OU keyboard warriors haha. Wish some of the Sooners on here were showing more respect. Plenty of garbage coming from both sides right now, but this is your board so you lot can say whatever the hell you want as far as I'm concerned :good!:
