Does anyone know why we always have great kickers. Starting with Fuad Reveiz in the 80s we have had just a whose who of All American kickers. Jeff Hall, James Wilhoit, Becksvoort, Walls, and of course the Colquitts. Now with Cimaglia. Are we Punter U? Are we THE destination for kickers? It kind of feels like it.
Don't forget Carlos.

He didn't hit the long ones like his bro, but he probably was more accurate.
Only kick I ever remember of his was a 50 yarder to tie Ga Tech. 10 year old Gavol got in trouble because he yelled way too loud at the TV when it went through and made his 6 year old sister cry.

Not sure which one you are talking about, but Fuad made a 60 yarder against GA Tech. I was at a BSA campout.

I was actually at that game in Atlanta (1982?). I was 9 years old and I remember that ball looking like it was going to stay in the air forever. The kick by Carlos was at the end of the 85 game. Fuad's kick from 60 would've been good from 65. Carlos' kick from 51 had about 3 inches to spare lol.

Engineering students at UT analyzed one of Fuad’s kickoffs and determined that it passed through the uprights at precise center of the rectangle.

Fuad was easily the best kicker we had during the kicking tee era. Can't imagine where he'd be putting kickoffs today.

And Ricky Townsend, Herman Weaver, Ron Widby, Karl Kremser, ............

You beat me to it. First soccer style kicker (Kremser). Barefoot kicker (Townsend). RT was an All-American. I don’t think that Fuad was as Hawkeye suggested. They weren’t specialists, but the Majors brothers, Cafego, Feathers, etc... All-Americans in their primary positions.

It's crazy how I can remember every detail about games of the 80's; now I can't remember what I had for breakfast.
