Number 4 QB

Nope. The strength of schedule takes into account who plays who. Most, if not all, are not perception based but based on who you play and how well they do.

It doesn't just look at conference A verses conference B - but bakes in all games against all opponents.

You face all of the mid major conference second place teams and have a very high SOS because of their win percentage.

Think about the QBs we had on campus at one time: Peterman, Worley, Dobbs and Riley Ferguson. Someone's done a good job of evaluation/recruiting.

Blasphemy! How dare you imply Derek Dooley did a good job at anything? :)

Fully agree. If we can't out coach Orgeron, then we really have a Dooley-like problem.

We are light years away from Dooley-like problem. Last year horrible losses happened, we sunk to the lowest with the loss to Vandy. Usually(83-5) if we lose to Vandy we don't make a bowl neither do they. We aren't close to being back to that. We should find out his worst with 121, with 120 we may have found out his best. It was a weird season. I couldn't figure our team out.

How do you lolly gag going to Ga?

I get thinking Vandy is a joke of a team, but Florida?

They never lost their nerve(so to speak). I believed JJ. He was aked what did he think when they called his number. His answer was the best ever..... He said he knew he was going to catch it.

Figure it out Butch!

We're not light years away from a Dooley problem. It would take a perfect storm to do it in 1 year, but if we slide enough each year we'll be back in 2010 soon.

The talent upgrade is too much for even a perfect storm and 1 year. Even at CBJ's at this point will be better than Dooley's best.

The culture at UT has been turned from worst ever, to on the edge of what could be a very nice run.

121 will be a great measuring stick if how far and fast we can fall, or are we just reloading with Championship expectations.

We we're closer to Dooley level than you think. 120 was probably the best team Butch will field here.

That's a gloomy way to look at it, but it could be true.

I prefer to lean for the silver lining, but to each their own.

120 showed that could do it at times against the highest level of competition. Other times they all looked like JV.

That's what Butch has to figure out. Coming out flat, over looking a team, starting slow, it don't matter.

The second half of Florida would have won us a NC, we haven't played a complete game under Butch against a quality SEC opponent.

We need 30+ from 121, they need to be working rather than what ever JS has been up to.

They need to figure out how to get in the "zone", and stay in the "zone".

You have to be the most negative poster I have ever seen. I don't know if you really believe this stuff or just want it to be true because you don't like the current coach.

Anyway folks need to give this team a chance before trashing them like some of you do.

And it is amazing that a post that started out lauding Peterman over Dobbs (since that didn't happen) has now turned into a bash team 121 thread.

The current coach is mediocre with development, which is very important. I want Butch to win because he's a great guy. I just don't see Butch winning anything significant here.

Nothing wrong with you being so negative.

Why try so hard to infect others?

Because others are delusional. I am truly hoping I am wrong. There's a reason why Jones' gameday blunders are a national joke.

Some are delusional with the negativity.

Lame jokes about coaching decisions never get old.

Great source to use to form your point of view.

In fact this thread started out citing questionable QB coaching. You spun it to pitting Peterman against Dobbs.

I could talk about his 0-fors against the SEC West and Muschamp. He is the only coach since Neyland to lose to Vandy twice. Beat Florida and Georgia and still blew the east.

Just looking at this years NFL draft (which happens to be CBJ's 4th year at UT), it looks as thou many coaches at the pro level might disagree with your opinion on UT coaches ability to develop players.

Those same NFL guys kept mentioning how underdeveloped our guys are.

92 got Johnny fired.

Just because I can remember the past doesn't mean I'm living there.

Then I concede that fact. I mean, it's great that Coach Jones brought us out of the Dooley days. In four years, the only comment about his job performance is that he's better than Dooley.

I also think we had the talent last year to win 12 games.

Our starters could've stood toe to toe with any of them. We even had stay fresh depth covered, but not injury depth, it hurt us late in the year.

We were too loose with the ball.

Maybe the changes in the staff can take us to the next level, we could win 15, with better execution.

Is that why a 3-Star goes to UT and ends up being a first rounder? Not mentioning other 3-Stars Dobbs & Sutton going in the first four rounds. I can see people questioning in game decisions (easy to do from the couch), but players are being developed and the NFL has taken notice. Just watch in the next few years how many Vols are taken in the draft and you can come back to here so we both will know who is correct.

Barnett was a 4 star top 200 player, whom impacted since the day he stepped on campus. Dobbs was critized for his lack of development as a passer. Sutton also hasn't really improved since his sophomore year.

The draft is based on talent, and our coaches are great at evaluating. I would say they are top 10 in that regard. If our player development improves, Jones will be here for awhile and I'll be wrong.
