Nu'Keese Richardson WR '09

Don't forget Desean Jackson. That cat isn't more than 175 soaking wet and he's a good one.

Nuke will be a good one IMO.

He is small but is very elusive and fairly strong. This is one of those kind of guys that you never get a square hit on. 5'9 is pretty short but he'll probably grow an inch and put on 20 pounds. Getting him will definitely soften the blow of losing Stokes tonight. There's a reason he's ranked as the 9th best WR and he has grown up playing against great competition.

we will see! I really hope you are correct.

1 good thing......he is not at UF!:dance2:

wow, so many of you guys get so bent out of shape over the smallest things. this staff did a great job with very little time going up against all of the other SEC coaches that had a huge jump on them. chill out.

Eddie Gran stole the Rivals #9 WR prospect in the entire country in less than 3 weeks and people are mad.

Unbelievable.

I'm not letting the NegaVols bring me down today.

Number 9 in the country in under a month----totally unbelievable to turn this kid.

Any1 have any info on his talk with volquest?

Summary---

1. He got real close with Marsalis Teague and they decided it would be good to come to UT together... and after he got back from his visit we were "on his heart."

2. The staff showed him things he had never seen before.

3. He said the atmosphere was outstanding at the bball game, and he could only imagine how much better it is at football games.

4. Said he hasnt caught flack yet, but he isn't concerned about himself. Only wants to win and compete for championships.

5. The final decision came down to the coaching staff.

i really like this kid. from what ive heard, it sounds like he really loves UT and is really lookin foward to playin for us. all the recruiting sites say hes a hard worker and thats what i like to hear

Looks like former Florida commit Nu'Keese Richardson was tempted to come to Tennessee because of the playing time, and because of Marsalis Teague.

So that got me wondering, will Tennessee's recruiting be weaker when they don't have playing time to offer?

No, not necessarily. Not everyone is enticed by early playing time. It's just another pitch that a recruiter can use.

Have you heard of the University of Southern California?

It all boils down to what the player is looking for. As things get better we won't appeal to those looking for playing time right away. We will appeal to those who look for tradition, as well as those looking to go to the NFL, not to mention kids looking to compete for SEC and national championships. Our biggest problem is we haven't been showing these kids we can win, just about every player wants to play for a winner.

Bottom line is it won't hurt us in the long run because we will appeal to different kids for different reasons.

Why are people upset? We got a kid who is fast and was heavely recruited by Florida to commit last minute. Good Job CLK!

Look at Florida, thats one of their big selling points. CUM said today that they don't redshirt anymore, so that gives everyone a chance at PT. USC does the same thing.

Seriously. Matt Cassel is living breathing proof that it's possible to benefit from going to a top program and competing with top talent, even if your playing time is ultimately limited to... um... almost nothing. Lots of prototypical winners want to go and compete for playing time, because they understand that the competition makes them better. Those are the kind of kids I would like to have at UT... not to say that we don't already. I'm just sayin' generally.

Are you serious????

This kid is a blur in the open field...He should return punts and kickoffs as well...He seems like a real workhorse so it should be fun to see him play the next 4 years

Some of UF's recruits this year like your national championship. Will UF's recruiting be weaker when they can't pimp a NC from the previous year?

I just find it odd that a coach comes in, inherits a program, and immediately begins to succeed on the recruiting trail. He didn't have this success at USC, he has to be offering something... right? Either that, or he's sending his henchman to do the recruiting work for him.
