We told you late last season that there were rumblings that Tennessee freshman WR Nu'Keese Richardson was homesick and wanted to transfer back to his native Florida. Well, Richardson finally got a chance to transfer -- but it was after an alleged armed robbery, not of his own volition. The former four-star recruit is now at I-AA Hampton, following the lead of former Vols RB LaMarcus Coker, who also transferred to the Virginia school, after failing four drug tests at Tennessee.

Richardson might be able to participate in spring practice for the Pirates, and he will be able to play this fall since he is transferring down a level of competition. His new coach, Donovan Rose, compared him to (gulp) Percy Harvin: "I looked at his tape and he is just an amazing athlete that can come right in and help us."

Glad he gets a second chance. In regards to that area, it is not conducive to being a normal moral person. Wait....he should fit right in.

Hampton likes getting our thugs that can't make it they probly sad that X left so they could get more of his type of players that couldn't handle themselves

i wouldnt mind if i never heard this effing name again... all he did here was create a bunch of drama and bs that he couldn back up. good riddance..... once a criminal, forever a criminal. this boy aint gonna change

So he joins Coker...another UT reject that had no discipline...SO WHAT??? What's the deal with Hampton anyway?? Is this a rehab school?...A half way house?...Or simply a school with no ethics willing to look the other way??

Anyone know whats going on with Mike Edwards school wise?

And my understanding of Hampton is that it has a 1 strike and your out policy.

Mike Edwards has just been announced to be enrolled at Texas SouthernEx-UT player Mike Edwards at Texas Southern GoVolsXtra

As for Richardson, it's sad how things went while here, the young man deserves another chance and Hampton is a place that gives young men that chance, of course it is for their own benefit in most cases. Coker went to Hampton and has emerged in some circles as a late round NFL pick possibly. Both players, Richardson and Edwards must be enrolled full-time in school or have a job or they will be found in violation of the terms of their plea deals. Hopefully, the young men turn their lives around and no more:machgun:

He made a mistake. Hopefully he learned from it and will take advantage of the opportunities his athletic abilities are providing him.
