Nuke still in the slammer - well, not anymore

Hate to say it, but this may be the best place for him until things calm down a bit. I'm not sure he wouldn't do something crazy if he got out right now, especially with the team being out-of-town. Maybe he stays in a few days, meets some real hard criminals, realizes he doesn't want to be one of them and reprioritizes his life.

Has Nuke been arrested before???

If not he should be able to get out on Pre-Trial....1st time offenders dont have to pay bound...

You might be right. Let him get a cold dose of reality. It might be a turning point for him.

I ain't a lawyer but I seriously doubt that is the case for an armed robbery charge.

In Tennessee there is no armed robbery. It would be aggravated robbery. In this instance, it is attempted aggravated robbery. Under Tennessee law, since there was no one harmed, and since there was no money or property taken, they would be eligible for a pre-trial diversion if their juvenile records are spotless.

False. This is true for some misdemeanors, but definitely not true for a felony. My first felony criminal defense case (only licensed in GA) was an aggravated assault (threatening with a firearm) and armed robbery (which has the same punishment as attempted armed robbery), and my client got 20 years in prison. These guys will get minimum 5 years in prison even if they only plea to one of the final charges. Suffice it to say that JJ was completely fortunate to be released.

Apparently eazyE knows more abou TN law than I do. I will defer to him

Definitely wrong! I got into some trouble a few years ago and pleaded the judicial diversion for first time offenders. I still had to pay court costs and bond to get out of jail.

recognizance is basically like a loan, you get set free but have to pay back your bail. they said edwards made bail and nuke was released on recognizance and jackson left without bail

So this is being called an attempted aggrivated robbery because no property was taken... Had they taken the cheeseburger, would it be aggrivated since property was taken?

I'm sorry but I just have no sympathy for these kids. The argument that they are just kids and kids make stupid mistakes just doesn't fly. They crossed a real line here robbing someone. It's not like they rolled and paint-balled someone's house.

To have the opportunity they had and the potentail NFL career and to blow that for what amounts to piss, these kids have total excrement for brains..... they must be dumb as dirt if this life decision seemed the smart thing to do.....

I am glad to see that most Vol fans are in favor of showing them the door immediately, that that is not the kind of players/ team we want here. I do not read rival boards (Gator boards), but I wonder if they all defended Spikes for his thug behavior and we are all standing against our own guys for thug behavior.....!!
