First of all, I'm proud of the way we played today. A loss is never swallowed easy but we showed what we have the potential to become.

That being said, I was really hoping to see Nuke get the ball some today. I know the vertical passing game wasn't there, but maybe some bubble screens or "spreadlike" handoff/options?

I didn't even hear Teague's name today.

Again, great game plan by CLK. Just a little short on the talent level, against a really good team (i hate typing that last part, but its true).

Thoughts?

Teague and Nuke can only get the ball if they have someone competent to give it to them.

I think it just says a lot about Crompton. On the bright side, Oku, BB, King and JJ got us some freshman exposure for the recruits!

We kept it close today because mistakes were limited. A shaky QB and Freshman WR's are not a good combo. G Jones made mistakes, imagine what the inexperienced freshmen would do. WR's need to know where to be every play. The bigger question is where was Warren?

Gerald Jones should be benched the freshmen look much better to me.

Gerald Jones is one of the best players we have, man. He's been hurt and it shows in his playing but he did much better today than last Saturday. We built a package around him last season for a reason. We just don't have a good enough quarterback to get him the ball.

I may be wrong, but I think the inexperienced freshmen would know what's in bounds and what's out of bounds in the end zone.

Just a hunch.

A running back was our leading receiver. It's not a surprise Teague and Nuke weren't heard a lot. No one else was either.

Agree totally. Just thought we might have used Nuke more on some of those screens and quick hitters.

Agreed, the only thing is with Cromp daddy a pic on a screen and that results in a pic 6. I think the game plan was good and safe. No chance for Cromp daddy to crack out and loose it any worse, just to keep it close and pray for some completions.

Nuke is dangerous and with the right QB he will be an excellent VOL..

Again I believe with a competent QB we all go from ?'s about our talent to man who was that!!!!!!!

Nuke and Teague will be stars, just not right now. Once they gain SEC experience and a quarterback to put them in great positions they'll be all-SEC caliber.

Agreed, but if they are just flat out sticking with Crompton, they have to do SOME direct snaps or somethingto get the ball in the hands of the playmakers. I thought that Kiff had been using that mantra since he got here. I don't understand this bull-headedness. I am extremely pleased with our coaches, but pulling the trigger on that would really increase my level of confidence in the staff.....not that it is anything but sky high. I J S

The package for him last year was because we did not have anyone else. We now have Teague and Nuke and Jones is more of a hinderance then an asset. Bench Jones and I bet we have more completions with Teague in the game.

<------ Never have thought Jones was anything special, drops passes and runs terrible routes. Bench him, his ankle is taped up and he is not 100%. He will have to do alot to change my mind.

I was expecting us to throw the playbook at them and see Nuke under center a few times but because our D played with them and we were playing a close to the vest kind of game we didn't see those plays
