They need to show the money. To somebody. Anybody. Make an offer no man could reasonably refuse. Shake up the college football world and make headlines. We are one are of the few schools that can actually afford to do this.

There are no guarantees. What if the hire turned sour and you had another buyout? Can't just go throwing money around.

I seriously wonder if we could get Chris Petersen for 11 million per year for 6 years.

One thing about Peterson is he has a special needs child. He accepted the position at Washington because some sort of special care is available or something like that. I believe that is the reasoning behind him choosing UW.

Tried that with Gundy. First it was double the salary....8.4. Then 6 years 42 mil. Davenport again? No, this is coaches not wanting to work for/with Currie, Davenport and Haslam. Haslam has already said Currie remains so it appears we have nothing more to look forward to. They will trot out whomever they damned well fell like and there's nothing we can do about it. They'll continue to build things, ask for money and support while we are being asked to show patience during this next rebuild. 5 more years roll by and the cycle starts all over again.

It's time to divorce from UT. It's nearly over. Just hire Butch 2.0 and put me out of my misery. Let me go and get on with things. As long as I know UT is really, truly and completely dead, it's gonna be easy to walk.

I really think you can as long it's the right guy. Also you can always let the contract run out and try again which costs nothing extra.

The fans will love that you tried and it will reinvigorate everyone.

It will remind the national media, who has forgotten, that we are a blue blood.

Money isn’t the issue, shocked that people still think it is.

Edit: money will be an issue if the correct coach isn’t acquired. It’ll come in the form of a lot of money that was proposed to the AA side and the AD side being taken off the table if they continue to back a certain booster.

park the van in a garage, take your next three prospects to the garage and hold the keys out... first one to take it, got it!

Money talks. It really does. You only have to look at all history to see this.

What I was meaning is money for a coach isn’t the issue. There’s a lot going on right now, the mess we are in isn’t neccassarily bad in my opinion of the situation. It’s being manufactured.

There’s a fight going on for power.

Fighter 1
One side is used to winning the fight. They have put pretty much all the people of power in office and provide a good chunk on money to the university. Problem is they aren’t good at picking the right people, and I believe they don’t try. They pick people they like or have connections with.

Fighter 2
The other fighter: is the rest of the big boosters, some who actually have deeper pockets than the opponent. They have offered the AA a ton of resources/and money to get them on their side, and fighter 2 is needed for athelitic funding. Sure these boosters by themselves don’t put spend more that the opponent, but together surely do.

Currie was in a tough spot. Fighter 1 got him in his position. He owes him, and essentially is fighter 1s property and puppet. Fighter 2 has said you side with us the AA and AD side will be set up nicely, go against us and good luck with all that and the renovations. Currie made the wrong decision from the start and caught extreme backlash from AA, fans, politicians, people inside his own office(the leak the shiano was going to be announced). Now he can’t be trusted.

Currie sides with fighter 1, either out of fear or just ignorance.

The fight is now about making the administration look like the biggest joke there is. Fighter 2 is sabatoging each candidate by reaching out and telling them to not take it. Each time we get turned down it looks worse and worse for the admin. Eventually Bev will have to pull the plug and can Currie, which will clear an obstacle needed to get the power back where it needs to be.

If it was solely off offering money to a coach we would have our pick, I promise you.

It may suck right now looking from the outside in, but this mess is needed. Fighter 2 may seem like they are hurting us by getting coaches to turn us down, but it’s for the better. Got to put a stop to the continual bad/corrupt choices or this cycle we’ve been in will continue to occur every few years.

Money is important, but the money isn’t what is causing this issue directly. I guess you could say the people with money is the issue. Hopefully the right side is making fast progress, and I believe they are. Currie had brohm ready to sign, took it to Davenport for approval, she shut it down
