Nsd

i got a question that im sure somebody can answer. with all this talk about us signing a big fish and this and that and what not, at this time last year was anybody on this board talking about us signing darick and justin? i didnt follow recruiting last year much but i know they flipped to us on signing day. thanks

This has got to be the most exciting signing day that I can remember. Does everyone remember how bad signing day 2008 was? Biggest commit was EJ abrams ward I believe.

I remember most of all of them since around the mid 90's and this is the most pumped I have ever been for NSD.

So it's not going to get better than this? Because this is my first NSD that I've really followed and I'm stoked.

Just got home from driving through a blizzard. Have the day off tomorrow and am currently armed with a case of brewskis about to get slizzard. A toast! To the recruiting accomplishments for not only the last couple of days, but for the last year, and most importantly to the closure to this class Vol Nation is going to be extremely proud of come tomorrow. Ladies and Gentlemen, prepare for a fabulous ride through Thursday! :hi:

I for one am extra excited because, school is canceled tomorrow. I am a middle school principal and the roads are totally frozen over here in Texas, so bad we can't get buses out!

This just means that I will have to "suffer" through NSD on my couch, with ESPNU, my computer, my iphone, and Volnation...oh, and probably something nice to drink!

VFL!!!

Yes. I'm pretty positive that Hunter committed to UT late in the process. He was originally committed to LSU, but he switched to us after Kiffin left for USC and we got Dooley. He was a silent under Kiffin and was going to be a NSD surprise, but Dooley told him to got ahead and committ and he did in mid January if I'm not mistaken. So Hunter really didn't flip to us on NSD.

Also most already knew about Da'Rick because him and teammate Nash Nance took a late visit to UT right before NSD. After the visit most felt he would come to UT even though he had been committed to UGA for quite awhile. After buddy Nance committed on to UT late in January it was pretty much a done deal he would be at UT.

So yeah to answer your question there were many people talking about Da'Rick and Justin at this time last year, but because one was already 100% committed and the other was pretty much in the fold. They weren't seen as being NSD surprises last year.

We got 6 inches today here in Boston and have 6 more coming tonight, and no school cancelations. As a TA. . . damnit.

We don't really get much snow, it's mostly ice for us. Whatever falls melts on the roads then refreezes. Plus, people here don't know how to drive in this kind of weather. We are having the coldest temperatures of the last 26 years right now.

Another Arnett tweet:

"Man I swear #UT putting together there on dream team... #vols expect more 4 stars tomorrow"

Any chance we would Sabanize players if we had a serious numbers problem

First off, I don't believe that we will have serious number problems. I believe we will oversign, but I also think the coaches have the best feel of the team's roster and what moves are going to happen. There could be academic problems, personal reasons, injuries, decommitments, and all kinds of other things that can happen.

BUT IF there was a serious number problem and everybody left on our board wanted to sign with UT then yes I could see a Saban move here. I mean Dooley worked under Saban and is very similar in the way he does things. But I also have heard from very reliable posters on many sites that we will have at least 2 currently committed prospects not make it in due to grades. I think one could very possibly be Pat Martin. I'm not sure of the other one though. IF that indeed happens then we would really only currently have 23 committments. I think everything will work out just fine. There is nothing to worry about IMO because I put great faith in what CDD and staff is doing with the program. They will make sure we get the best talent possible on the team.
