Are the Vols going to even have any drama this year? It looks to me that we've peaked, and it's just a matter of watching others snatch up the remaining elite players. Not trying to be Debbie Downer. Just trying to find interest in this NSD.

Last year, we made big some signing day moves. Nigel Warrior. The DT that chose AU. Kongbo. The wideouts. Anybody think we've got anything waiting in the wings this year?

In my opinion LaBryan Ray might be the only surprise/take we actually get on NSD. I think there's also a good chance the day before NSD we can get Conliffe(commits 1-31-17) as well. Unfortunately, that's about all I think CBJ might pull off. Thanks!

That would be a great close if it happens. Ray is a 5* and Conliffe a 4*. I hope it happens!

Yes, it would be a great close but Ray is the one I'm worried about more than Conliffe. I think we have the best chance as Conliffe over Ray but we could still end up getting both of them.

Well...we just got another 3 star...in a looong list of 3 stars in Josh Palmer. While according to Rivals we have ZERO 5 stars...(I thought Trey Smith was a 5 star..apparently not) and Bama has SEVEN 5 stars. Easy to see why they dominate every year. BUT....we DO have the # 9 ranked 2017 class which isn't too shabby.

While we'd love to have the # 1 class..or at least top 3...we are consistently getting top 10 classes under Butch..which SHOULD make us competitive in the SEC.

With the high ranking classes we shouldn't be ranked anywhere outside of the top 10 in the country at years end. But alas...we don't even crack the top 15.

That needs to change. Dooley recruited pretty well too...Kiffin did...and u wonder is it Butch or is it the fact most of our games are televised on a major network (CBS) and the rest on major cable networks. In addition to Tennessee being a heritage program.

Is it Butch...or does UT sell itself basically? I'm not judging one way or the other.

Well Trey Smith is a 5 star with everyone but rivals, rivals gets worse every year. Anybody that can see knows Smith is a 5 star, I don't need rivals to say it too make me know he is. We have a top 10 ranked class right now, if we add Ray or Conliffe we will be right at or a top 10 class. Recruiting isn't a perfect science, there are many factors including injuries that hurt us this year. I think we are going to see some good results this upcoming year, if we go backwards I am sure with another AD coming in we will make the right moves. Coach Jones and staff deserve this year to see which way we are moving, despite all the moaning about how this class will not finish near top 10 we will do just that. GBO!!!!

they are not bringing him in to visit if they do not plan to offer always room. And yes Trey Smith is the best OL prospect this year a true 5 star. The Rival sight complaint is his arms are not long enough for Tackle and will be a guard which he may so they will not rate a guard that high. Silly he dominates the game and has every tool to AA here and 1st round pick.
