So does the NRA
Yeah, but the NRA doesn't want me to croak after I turn 76. Get used to the term "comfort care", translation means withhold life saving treatment while giving drugs.
AARP lobbied for the ACA for the money they would make as an insurer clearinghouse.
Part of the ACA that affects us now is being admitted to a hospital for "observation", Medicare won't cover that and you get to pay 100%. Have already had experience with that one.
Neither does the AARP.
The NRA does donate money to congress members that did vote for the ACA. .
The NRA will donate to ANY candidate who will vote against gun legislation.
Do you think for one minute the NRA will not and has not donated money to a candidate who votes for entitlements , bigger government and tax increases.?
They help elect and support candidates that vote for the things you are against.
IMO, all lobbying should be made illegal.
AARP is supposed to support their membership! The membership was against the ACA and AARP lobbied for it anyway.
While the AARP doesn't care how long I live (especially if I've prepaid multiple years due) they actively supported legislation that does. That makes them just as guilty as the idiots that voted for the ACA in the form that passed.
I totally agree that lobbying should be made illegal.
Seriously what legislation has been passed that wants you to die? There are no death panels that was/is BS rhetoric.
You need to look more closely.
Non-medical people approving medical procedures with an eye on the bottom line are the same as death panels.
People 76 years of age and older with a fatal disease (but curable) will be given "comfort care". That means they will drug your ass to the point of no pain and watch you die.
I must be older than you because I do pay attention to those little annoying facts.
Speaking of NRA, maybe some of you can help me make a decision.
Mossberg 500 or Remington 870?

Here is a link that compares the two. It may help.
I agree with hog on the 870. You would be happy with either one, IMO.
Mossberg 500/590/590A1 vs Remington 870 express/police/wingmaster : guns

That's a pretty biased viewpoint you posted from Reddit. The guy pretty much does everything to steer one away from the Mossberg.
Of course I'm biased when I think the pinnacle of pump action shotguns is a Winchester Model 1300. A New Haven marked 1300 specifically.
Simple solution if you do not approve of the link I provided him , provide a comparison link that meets your approval.
As I said earlier I think he would be happy with either gun.
Call me crazy, but I just think there's an issue doing a "gun review" when the person doing the review doesn't own either and furthermore, doesn't fire a single shot during the so called review.
Septic, either one you'll be fine with. But my suggestion is to go to your local range that rents guns and shoot a box of ammo through both. The only way you can make a good informed decision to to get trigger time on both and figure out which one works better for you.
Or buy both.
I'm not going to say that's the best choice...
But...
I looked at the new Winchesters the other day as a just in case my moral principles would permit me to buy one. Other than being made in Turkey, they have that neutered five round tube because of the import restrictions. And the smooth actions the 1300 line was known for have gone away. I'm sure in time they would smooth out, but my New Haven marked Winny came out of the box smooth as a pretty lady's behind.
I'd love to get another one, but I want a new build American made gun with 7+1 capability and the original actions.
Never been a Winchester shotgun fan but love my dads 1894.
