Now that the football season is officially over after the Pats OT win in the Super Bowl and we can look back over the last 5 weeks since the MCB with “great” discussions involving:

Brady vs. Manning

A recruiting class seemingly made up of Lenoir City’s backups

Who will UT hire as AD?

Who will join/depart the coaching staff?

With all that going on, what do we discuss between now and Spring Practice? Do we just go back to the trusty Nega vs. Pumper war? That’s just seems too easy and lazy on our part. What new developments will present itself for spirited debate?

It's officially the off-season. :thud: :loco: :cray:

I think most of the changes which are anticipated will be over in the next couple of week. AD could be a little longer. The naysayers seem to still be going, but they now have to repeat old half truths and speculation. I would like to see what is going on with Winter workouts and progress with those who are rehabbing from injuries and surgeries. The QB competition will be cussed and discussed as will where JJ and Byrd will play next Fall. My season tickets are in Section Q, so i will interested in seeing if any renovations of the bathrooms and aisles begin . Also discussions about the 2018 recruiting class will continue to grow.

I'm definitely looking forward to the QB battle.Should be fun to watch and we have some talente, young QB's with huge upsides that will make this a fun battle to watch. Even though it's a 4 QB race I think it's really just a Guarantano/Dormady battle. Don't have much expectations for Jones but do like McBride's upside a lot.

Granted this definitely wasn't Butch's best recruiting class but comparing all 4 recruiting services we do have 11 players that are 4* or 5* on atleast one of the services. Chandler,Smith,Gray,Ignont,Crosby,Labruzza,Bailey,Murphy,Locklear,Bennett and Bumphus. Not to mention Shamburger,Coleman,Jones,Page,Reid, Brown and Butler who all are underrated and have potential SEC starter written all over them. I have taken shots at Butch as much as anyone has but really looking at this class it has potential to be really, really good.I don't buy into Butch's philosophy that stars don't matter because they do. And it's obvious we don't recruit on the level Ala,LSU,Ohio St,Clemson and USC do on a consistent basis and we won't be able to consistently compete with them until we do. We can't live off classes like '17 that 81% of our committs were 3* like it was on 247. But will say I think this class has a lot of underrated players. But only time will tell.

well, you got the draft to look forward to, as we should here 4-6 vols' names called.

you got spring practice starting up in the not too distant future....

2018 recruiting

what will Mahoney's fate ultimately be?

we can break down the schedule.

and the AD is still an open book.

and CBJ and co will always be hanging around if you're in to that conversation.

There isn't a question on who is better between Brady and Manning. 99/100 people will give you the same answer. Both were great.

Don't worry, VN will find something else to complain about. :)

VN is no worse than any other fanbase we absolutely hate losing. Each has a different way of expressing their feelings about that. Fickle at times? Maybe. Hopefully the cooler and informed heads will be the majority on here(not claiming to be one of the afore mentioned).
