Monte and Lane have said that they want Eric to give his full attention to mastering his defensive role...

But the thing we need the most is for this team to quickly grasp the new material. The elements... quality staff and an SEC worthy roster, are in place. Success, even moderate success, can only come from good teaching and incredibly good listening over these next four weeks.

So little time, so much to do. A daunting task that begins in earnest tuesday.

We fans will be blessed with an opportunity to do something we've not been able to do for a long time... read about what actually happens from beat writers who will finally get to watch. Truth from spring practice will be refreshing.

I'm rambling a bit I know, but I'm truthfully really excited to see this new day dawn at last.

It reads friday nite practice is open to the public. I Thought I read somewhere that open practice was at 730 am. Can I get a ruling on this? :hi:

This is my first post because I mainly come on here to see what you guys think about recruits and which way they may go. However, I truly believe that this coaching staff knows there is talent in Knoxville that just needs to be coached up.
The most exciting thing about what is about to unfold is knowing that we are going to see OUR team on the field prepared and knowing that they and the coaches have done everything to get ready each week. I'm sure this first year we might end up being a little disappointed about the total number of wins but I'd be willing to bet everyone by year two and/or year three we are back in the top 5 or 10 to stay. To me that is all we can ask for in the SEC and it fires me up.
That first game is going to be ROCKING because every player, fan and coach knows we are on the road back. Give it time boys because the VOLS are back!!!!!!!

On the website it says it starts tom at 3:30. I am more interested in friday. I have not heard if its a go ahead or not.

Yep... after last year's spring practice, most of us actually believed we had an SEC competitive team because of the coach filter and propaganda being dished out.

In fairness to the coaching staff you are referring to, not that I liked them much, they repeatedly complained about our inability to score when we got in range. And no one could "filter" our inability to score in the scrimmages that were analyzed to death in the papers.

The offensive struggles were easy to see coming last season. I can't tell you how many people told me I was stupid b/c I said us not being able to score in the spring was an indicator that we'd have trouble scoring in the fall.

The people who were surprised we struggled were the same ones who looked at Rick Clausen's stats and said he should start. Not saying anyone knew the degree of how bad we'd be, but I can't tell you how many times I pointed out we couldn't score in spite of the statistical breakdown.

lol. It's not like that at all bro. Just pointing out a fact. I'm not a big fan of the old staff, but they couldn't hide our scoring struggles in the spring last year, and that should have told people a lot.

Oh, it's just that it's likely to elicit a lot of opinions from the rest of the board. I have no strong feelings on it personally.
