Noticing a real problem in our recruiting

Too many kids are interested in Tennessee and want to be a VOL!

See, this is how it should be and should have always been. And, I think, how it will continue to be for a while. What a difference a coach (and a little hard work and effort) makes, boys. We will be back.

GBO :good!:

back when Coach Fulmer was at the top of his game we had this problem every year and look what it did for us. Yep we were in the National Championship talk every year and were putting first rounders in the league all the time.

IF we go over, it's not a huge issue. Let's say we take 36, we grayshirt maybe 2-3 that can handle it, and cut the rest from the bottom.

You can't take them all, that's life, but I would almost guarantee that if Butch is still recruiting and accepting commits, he has a plan.

He doesn't seem like the kinda guy that would just keep accepting commits and turn his back on some kids on NSD.

We would all be mad if he took 28 when he could get 30, so he'll take more and figure it out when the time comes. Some kids are gonna ruin their own chances with grades or whatever. It always happens.

Trust in the coaches, and pray that we win out and get a good bowl.

I don't think we "cut anyone from the bottom" . We are trying to build relationships with HS coaches and public perception and that kind of practice will taint that quicker than anything.

Hey,bowlbrother85,don't diss Dews.A very good player,AND,I don't think Butch would casually throw out an offer of scholarship to simply get commit numbers up.
