Chancellor Davenport (reading a prepared statement)

-Says she regrets the hurt this has caused.
-She's come to understand the love for Tennessee athletics
-She asked Currie to return to Knoxville yesterday afternoon, that had nothing to do with any specific coach.
-High expectations come with challenges and challenges come with tough decisions.
-Decided to make a change that is in the best interest. Currie has been suspended and Fulmer is AD.
-Currie worked tirelessly. And was given full authority to find a coach for Tennessee.
-Appreciate how support and respectful Fulmer has been since she arrived. He understands the athletic department.
-Thank VolNation for support and love for this university. Our goals are the same. We want a great football program. It's a source of pride for all of us.

Phillip Fulmer introduced.
Shame this wasn't understood and/or a part of choosing the AD originally.

Phillip Fulmer - intentionally not addressed as "coach". They are here to play ball.

Good gravy, it is so good to hear and see professional leadership speak and model honor, honesty, and respectability.

I cried when he started to speak. Now - I was up all night for work, but nonetheless. He is here to do business as it should be done.

I have to say, Fulmer is saying all the right things. Acknowledges football has basically sucked, it's sucked for a variety of reasons, fans deserves better. Road will not be easy

PF: "It's amazing what can be accomplished when no one cares who gets the credit"

If you read between the lines, he's saying a lot here.

"I've seen what honest communication ... can achieve."

That was a shout out to John Kelly !! Hopefully Coach Fulmer will find honesty, John.

Wow. Davenport is having trouble getting this out. Pretty emotional.

Not watching, but to me, I'm glad she's showing emotion. Whether that's based on a shared love/passion of UT athletics, or simply fear for her job, it's better than a robotic speech looking down on us peasants.
