Not Understanding the Dooley Love

So we would have “had a much, much stronger, deeper team” by adding Paige and redshirting Da’Rick.

Deeper when you add bodies, of course.

Paige, I believe, would have caught more balls and performed as well on the end-arounds (probably fewer false start penalties too) than Da'Rick. Ergo, a stronger team.

I don't know if he would have redshirted Da'Rick. Effective hyperbole to show a point.

It seems clear to me though he would have filled the Da'Rick role on this team better than Da'Rick. That doesn't mean Da'Rick's ceiling isn't higher, but Da'Rick was RAW as raw gets this year. Experience almost always matters.

Never claimed he was better than Hardesty. I simply said his numbers are comparable when he was here - which KPT has proven. That is good evidence for any model.

I said Poole had a great year here. For that reason alone I don't bump him in my model. Again, I'll take Poole's 1000 real yards against a model prediction any day.

However, we do know both Oku and Neal struggled for different reasons. It's clear we needed another solid #2 RB. Creer, as a former Vol, would have been a solid contributor.

so he's as good as an NFL running back but can't beat out Poole. Looks like Tauren will either make a bunch of money or your model is flawed

...He would have redshirted Da'Rick....

2) I don't know if he would have redshirted Da'Rick. Effective hyperbole to show a point....

1) How are you adding bodies by adding Paige and subtracting Da'Rick

2) You clearly said that he would redshirt Da'Rick. “Hyperbole” is your standard fallback excuse when getting caught talking in circles.

Quibbling is your standard fallback as you have no platform. Paige > Da'Rick 2010.

Adding Langley, Douglas, et al. is more than subtracting Da'Rick.

Not that anything preseason carries any weight, but I am pretty sure Creer was listed as a Doak Walker candidate before the year began. I watched him play one game this year and he looked like a beast. It would have been nice to have him. He had his chance here though and blew it. I didn't read much of this topic so this may have already been mentioned. If so, sorry.

Ut gibbs is insane. Even if we did have Paige, Creer, Langley, blah blah - there is NO way we win the east this year with Fulmer. How can you possibly watch this season and extrapolate anything but 6-6 or worse. You're not adding Peyton Manning with Don Shula as coach, you're adding career UT backups with Fulmer - someone who has proven to underachieve!

Good day you intellectual lightweight

We've heard that all before too.

Guess who was on the wrong end of those arguments?

In the WAC. Against some of the most god-awful teams in college football.

WTF are you talking about. In what insane world can you rationalize that Fulmer would have won the title this year. He couldn't even beat Wyoming with with a more talented team. You're dreaming, pal.

You are wrong. You have been found wanting. I have given the facts! You are wrong!

I don't know if Hunter is considered being a starter but he played a ton. Same with Da'Rick.
Those are the only freshman that saw a lot of playing time?

The only game I watched of his was the Boise St. game. Specifically the first half of that game. He had like 150 yards and a couple of td's in that game. I have no idea what else he did against the rest of that league's competition, but I thought that was a great day against Boise.

I think my boy Fugate ended up a starter as well.

what about Justin Hunter? Sapp? Jaques Smith..

I guess my point is after Kitten left, quick hire and hit the recruiting road running how can we not give the man a little credit to get us bowl eligible and do it with the inexperience on the field and on the coaching staff? I know Simms transferred and we all knew that spelled disaster (see texas university) I know everyone wished Simms had been pulled way earlier but Bray might not have been what he is now if he had to through those loses to FU Bama and UGA...just thoughts.

I hope Dooley has silenced some of the criticism.

GO VOLS!

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. He just likes to antagonize everybody to keep the argument going, damn the facts or figures.

As I said, you were wrong.

Line up Hardesty now, like I did earlier.

Hilarious. I should have guessed that the guy thinking Fulmer's final years here meant something would think that kind of PT was meaningful.

What's even funnier is that your argument indicates we had not 2, not 3, but 4 stud running backs on the roster in 2008. They were all running behind a line full of fifth year seniors. And yet, our running game was pathetic. Now you want to look at that situation, then turn around and say Fulmer and this depleted roster plus a couple of Louisiana Tech losers would have a shot at winning the SEC this year.

As we never get to forget, UAB was never put away that year, although it wasn't as nailbiting as this year.
Lennon Creer got his first carry when UT was up 21-3 with about 17 minutes remaining in the game. Foster and Hardesty had carried the ball exclusively up to that point. They did not enter the game again. Instead Creer and Poole split carries. Nice try attempting to make carries against a C-USA team relevant, though.

Usually when everyone tells me I'm wrong, I get the point that I'm wrong, or I just stop arguing. I'm not that ignorant to justify my opinions, but then again my hypocrisy knows no bounds...At least you do keep me wanting gibbs, because I can't wait to see what you say next. I don't see how those 5 would turn any SEC season around, and even if Creer was our #2, I don't see that making any difference in the wins. Matt Simms is mediocre at best, but Coleman never saw past his route based receiver. We had NICK STEPHENS in front of him. He makes Simms look like Rick Clausen. For Fulmers sake man, just leave it alone.

That's called GroupThink. You might want to consider standing up for your opinion and supporting it with facts no matter what people say. That's been the story of progress for 2 million years since homo erectus.

There have been two sets of facts presented. Both sets support my model, and one set was provided by the contrarian opinion.

What should I do? Y'all are telling me the sky is green, but the sky is blue.

Don't get sucked into GroupThink. Stand up, stand firm, mean what you say.

Yeah, that's it. Carries in the third quarter up 3 scores against UAB are significant. Everyone else is brainwashed.
