Not Understanding the Dooley Love

I'll tip my hat to CDD for having done a better job than I expected.

Even the defense played well today and that was the last remaining need towards which I had hoped to the coach would apply his attention.

Good luck with the bowl, Coach... and way to hang tough against strong criticism (or, at least, some of the strongest I could muster)! You've certainly done what you could on the field to win the recruits you need in the years ahead.

GBO!:hi:

The one he backed his azz into? Most any decent coach could have won a championship with that team.

How many will Dooley win with fans that are satisfied with 6 wins beating UAB, (due to a FG kicker missing 5 FG's), Memphis, Vandy and KY

Is this really what Tennessee football has become.

Not only has the team improved..so has the coaching staff. I give him praise for not letting a 2-6 team go 2-10 regardless of who we played.

Did you see those two catches he made today? He's totally legit.

LMAO - Did you hear the crowd when he snagged both of them? I thought it was great. Having a coach that can catch like that is..... well it is crazy!!! :loco:

You can WOW all you want...it is true.....bama & florida both were predicted to get to atlanta & both have failed...bama was picked by many to repeat & they have failed....one has 4 losses & one has 3,both have had their @ss kicked & both have been outcoached & throttled...so yeah i like dooleys chances to win his share!

Haha ok, so you're predicting a sub .500 coach to go at least .500 against two multiple national championship winning coaches. I'm not saying it isn't possible, but I wouldn't predict it either.

And the great Saint Saban choked away a 24 pt lead with arguably one of the best teams in the country.

What he did was save this team from total collapse and embarrassing the school. All he did was put the ball in the hands of who could be the second best QB in school history, and use Hunter and Rogers as well as any coach could. That is why everyone is happy. My joy is from the fact that we have Tyler Bray for three more years. He is the real deal, as good a freshman as you can find around the country playing QB. Now Dooley and staff are not the best at game planning, running the clock, and we need to wait comcerning recruiting but for this very moment he needs a slap on the back!

Kiffin was 6-6 last year at this time and everyone was pretty happy about that. We started this year with less talent and a much harder schedule and still came out 6-6. That's why Vol fans with a brain can see the foundation being laid for more wins against better teams around the corner, in a way that is complimentary to our program, not the thuggish west coast ideals Kiffin tried to bring.

GFTO!

Dooley is Bray's 4th option....minimizes the pick.

Who is satisfied with 6 wins? An hell yes it's what Tenn has become after your savior ran this program into the ground. Getting this team bowl eligible was a huge accomplishment regardless of who we played.

I'm not predicting it...i said i like his chances to win his share...nothing i have seen from meyer & saban that makes me think they can't be beat.....they both have 2 NC but both have been outcoached several times & meyer is gonna have 5 losses after today & old nickey has 3....so they are not god as you seem to think they are!

We are nowhere close to being a championship team, but did you see some of the guys we are trotting out to play d line? This is not the day for negative s!!!. This team moved mountains to finish with 6 wins. Holding UK and Ole Miss to 14 is a big deal.

A Dooley hater cannot understand the love. OP starts with "I don't dislike Dooley". BS, everyone can see through that one.

The first of this year, everyone, including me, was thinking about how invincible Bammer and Gators were. We have only 2 losses more than Bammer. By the end of the day we will have only 1 loss more than the Gators. Pretty amazing, huh?

We are like every team. We have to beat the teams we are supposed to beat. Although, I believe KY and Ole Miss may be better teams.

Dooley still has a lot to prove, but he is off to a good start in my book.

bank on it! Dooley, young, new to SEC, energetic, good schemes.......Start of a new Tennessee era....The beginning of a dynasty!!!!

Exactly, getting this team bowl eligible was a huge accomplishment.

Actually, we were 7-5, and the reason why people were excited about Kiffin was b/c we were incredibly competitive against Alabama and Florida and blew UGA and USC off the field. Plus, his recruiting was through the roof.

Hamilton with his firing of CPF and subsequent hirings have Tennessee where they are

First off, let me say that I don't dislike Dooley. He's a personable coach that seems to relate well to the players. So, this isn't a knock against him or a statement that he won't ultimately do well at UT.

But, I kinda wish everyone would look at the 6 games we won and who they were against. The combined record of those teams is 23 - 44 (.343).

I understand the depth issues, and I understand the just overall lack of talent. I'm not arguing that we should've beaten any of the teams that we lost to necessarily. All of that is why I don't get how anyone can necessarily love or hate Dooley. But, pretty much all that I've seen on here is tons of praise for Dooley.

I have no clue if this coaching staff can ultimately compete with Meyer, Saban, Petrino, Spurrier, etc. Yet, people just continually praise him for winning those 6 games. I just really don't get it. Anyone care to explain that? And, again, I understand the depth/talent issues, but, even given that, there would've been no reason for us to lose to any of those 6 teams that we beat.

Go jump in the Chickamaga Dam!! :loco: Don't be hatin!!!
