First off, let me say that I don't dislike Dooley. He's a personable coach that seems to relate well to the players. So, this isn't a knock against him or a statement that he won't ultimately do well at UT.

But, I kinda wish everyone would look at the 6 games we won and who they were against. The combined record of those teams is 23 - 44 (.343).

I understand the depth issues, and I understand the just overall lack of talent. I'm not arguing that we should've beaten any of the teams that we lost to necessarily. All of that is why I don't get how anyone can necessarily love or hate Dooley. But, pretty much all that I've seen on here is tons of praise for Dooley.

I have no clue if this coaching staff can ultimately compete with Meyer, Saban, Petrino, Spurrier, etc. Yet, people just continually praise him for winning those 6 games. I just really don't get it. Anyone care to explain that? And, again, I understand the depth/talent issues, but, even given that, there would've been no reason for us to lose to any of those 6 teams that we beat.

This is the least talented team Tennessee has had in 30+ years.

He took this team

1) bowling

2) to 3 SEC wins.

Get the **** out.

Actually, there was reason to lose to Ole Miss and Kentucky considering they have experience, just as much talent, and more depth.

The difference is Bray >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Simms.

If Bray starts from day 1...we definitely go 7-5 and may have even beaten UF.

Simms = Horrible.

Stupid post.

Your caveat contains the summary of all the arguments that are compelling but that you dismissed.

Ayers being one of your best dts? That is plenty of reason to lose to ole miss and kentucky.

Our dts mean that if we were a video game our defense would be ranked in the 70s by numbers or C at best by letters.

I think most people just recognize what an accomplishment it is to take this particular set of Tennessee players and produce a .500 season and a bowl game. We've had waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better teams that had losing records coached by a guy who won a national title. I mean, look at Texas. There is a team that should be so much better than us from a talent perspective with a significantly more favorable schedule and they are done.

Ignore the ignorant troll. He obviously does not understand football.

He did more with nothing than fulmer dd with the #1 ranked recruiting class as his seniors and a preseason #3 ranked team (2005).

That suffices for my praise.

Did you watch Bray against UTM? No way he was ready to take over from Day 1.

ya we were 2-6 and got manhandled in the second half till late in the season and even had a tough time with uab...def no reason for us to lose to ole miss or kentucky...glad you could point that out. ya i really dont see what the coaching staff did either...bray just never seemed to get any better, know what i mean.

KY was just held to 14 points today. Guy just took a 2-6 team to 6-6. This team didn't quit and then you want to question the love.......

I'm simply saying that I don't see how you can judge him one way or the other based on this season. And, I'm sorry, but possibly aside from Ole Miss, we have a ton more talent than any of those other 5 teams.

Ummm...the only way I know how to put this is:

'Soon as I get home, first thing I'm gonna do is punch yo mamma in da mouth!'

Considering we can end up with the same record as pretty boy Lane with a thinner team, I think it's fair to jump on the Dooley bandwagon.

Guess it is just that we appreciate a good coach. He has done wonders with what he had and the situation he had to work with. 6-6 may not sound like much, but Texas would love to have it a yr from playing from the NC and with years of top recruits. Alabama, with what I had heard was supposed to be the best coach ever, with all his main players returning from NC team and top recruiting classes, wins 9.

I could go on, but maybe you get the picture. This team is special, and I believe this coaching staff is also.

Please, our talent level is the worst it's been in 30 years.

You should lose posting privileges until next season for no other reason than being a negative nancy
