Not uncommon back in the day for HC of football and AD to be the same person

Just saying, if PF has gone around and tagged the available pool of HCs, found those left unimpressive, unattainable, or uninterested a case could easily be made he selects himself for the next few years on the cheap. Could be why many VFLs being contacted for coordinator spots. What would be a bigger headline than PF returns to UT? No inside info, just had a career where I had to read between the lines for a living at one point. It could happen. If so VN what say you, embrace it if Tee is his OC and Steele is his DC?

Pretty much the same thing as miles at head coach but probably with more VFLs on staff. Would be better than some of the current options I guess. Could be a feel good story but could also turn out poorly. He's been out of coaching for a decade.

Except he already said he has no plans to coach. So if that’s the case we get another year of Hoke. Let’s not go there.

Dooley was HC and AD at La Tech. Do you want him back OP?

The answer is a hell to the naw! However Barry Alvarez at Wisconisin has been HC and AD, would you like to be where they've been the last ten years or where we've been?

As much as I would have hated this option a month ago, our options are really becoming limited. So yeah, I would rather have Fulmer than settling for someone like Steele.

Noooo... That is like the worst idea ever. That doesn't work at the high school level, much less a major college with tons of sports.

Fulmer already said he's not coaching...he's not going back on that.

You say that as if you know, but his quick statement might not stop him. He is not bound by it. People acquiring power often do so by making a series of misleading statements. Might say that is more the norm these days than the exception.

1. Why would Tee and Steele leave great situations for the same position at this current dumpster fire?
2. Why would you think someone can do two jobs well when both are full time jobs?

Athletic departments are not like they were 40 years ago. It is more than just making sure the football program is solid, although that is usually job 1. Football coach is a full time, all consuming job. When would a coach be successful if also doing AD fundraising, other sports management, facilities planning, etc.?

You don't have to read between the lines to know that the current environment is not going to allow a top tier coach, but an interim/temporary coach/AD is not going to fix the problem because who is going to leave a job to coach with him or player turn down other schools to play for him?

We just have to hope we get the guy who is just ready to blossom as a head coach. Old retreads will do nothing for us.
