Not trying to pump sunshine

I am kind of shocked at the reaction I'm seeing. Disappointed, I understand. But, I'm seeing some genuine anger.

1. I think there is a genuine lack of respect for just how good Georgia is, particularly on defense.

2. There is, and it's not close, no doubt that Tennessee is moving in the right direction and that EVERYTHING, not damn near everything, but EVERYTHING is better about that football team now on 10/10/20 than this time last year and certainly when Pruitt took the job.

3. Yes, unfortunately, right now, you can't just be "good"and win the SEC or be "good" and win the division. You have to be national championship contender good. And I don't think most people here reasonably expected to be national championship contender good at this point.

4. You could have Florida's defense.

Hey don't worry, when UT and UF play, ole "Fumble Fingers McGee" will make Florida's defense look like an NFL defense.

EVERYTHING IS NOT BETTER. Three years in a row we have lost to UGA by more than a two TD spread while allowing them to score more than 40 points. THAT is not better, that is worst in class performances for 3 straight ^%$#ing years.
We have a boat anchor at qb. 5th year seniors don’t fumble the ball 3 times and throw a pick in one half...

And a 5 star offensive line doesn't block air. That entire offensive effort starting with preperation, coaching and ending with execution at every position on that offense was pathetic. No way around it.

Most good high school quarterbacks have the instinct to either run and, or throw the ball away when they feel pressure. Georgia played a walk on that was 5-11 and would be lucky to throw the ball 50 yards, but he had the instinct to get out of the pocket and run away from pressure. Guarantano has a good arm, but he lacks every intangible, other than toughness that is required to be a good qb. He’s simply not a d-1quarterback.

Here's the biggest problem. GA has a great DL but our OL is full of 4* and 5* and our OL looked liked a 1-AA OL against them.

In 2018, we were the worst P5 OL per PFF and in 2019, we improved but still wasnt in the Top 100 nationally. In any other profession, the OL coach would be looking for a job but he's buddies with Pruitt so......
Yeah well, it turns out they were emulating our snap count and shifting and JG was so shell-shocked he constantly snapped the ball right as their blitzers reached full speed at the line of scrimmage.

I saw many of Jones coached teams look better against top 5 ranked teams than what I saw today. You are trying to convince us that what we are seeing is better than at the same point of Jones's reign. You are insulting our intelligence.
Well, Jones had Dobbs covering his ass. I mean that dude could turn a broken play into a 50 yard TD run and he never looked like he was running that fast as he blew by people. Hmmm...he had a good QB. We have yet to replace him.

What do you want me to do? Actually coach?

+1000.

We lost to Georgia State a year ago. We lost 3 in a row to Vandy before last year. We went 0fer in the SEC the first time ever 3 years ago. There is no question things are improving, but teams don't go from our sorry state to Bama overnight. The fact Georgia has more horses than we do right now is neither surprising or a reason to throw in the towel. Good post, 99.

Gator is completely accurate on all points ( except that Florida defense will somehow look like the iron curtain when we play them)

I think most posters here would have been disappointed with a loss of course, but you would be seeing much more positive comments if we had just completed the game with efforts that were worthy of respect. It is hard not to be angry and disappointed when we did not score any points after halftime. Why weren't adjustments being made and why were we so conservative in play-calling? Those are the types of questions rolling around in many minds today. Yes, posts are a bit more harsh because of the style of play and what seemed like a lack of effort in the 2nd half.

Nobody, NOBODY is playing defense in the SEC right now except Georgia, and they haven’t exactly played an elite offense yet. Even Bama is getting gouged so far this year. Florida happens to be about the worst of them all right now.

I am NOT a fan of this Big12 defensive approach. Agree that UT looks much improved, at least through the first half, and have as good an argument as anyone to claim the second best team in the East right now behind UGA.
Hey, not to mention the defending national champs defense.

Agreed.

Not sure I understand the melt down going on right now.

Its no need to panic. Yall act like we just lost to Vandy.

To be fair.....it’s worse than losing to Vandy. Vandy is so bad their fans can’t even brag when they beat you.

We weren't expected to get blown out and let UGA hand 37 offensive points on us though. Or have like zero yards of rushing.

Zero rushing yards is concerning. We were supposed to have one of the best O-lines in the country.

Individual talent only goes so far at the offensive line position. An offensive line has to be coached well to to work as a single unit to be effective, which requires a good offensive line coach...

Besides JG, he’s a reason why Pruitt will lose his job if he doesn’t make a change.
