Not long ago Harry Reid said what he did today was "UnAmerican."

Vetted implies that the vote is then based on their credentials. Denying the vote just to score cheap points with mouthbreaters, of either party, hardly seems to serve any noble purpose.

At least you acknowledge the pendulum swings both ways

Obama and the democrats need something to distract attention away from the never-ending ACA debacle.

This isn't going to work.

I'm sure that has a lot to do with their running this through today. Not sure the Bachmann, Palin, Hannity, Limbaugh crowd will be able to resist the temptation to start talking about atheist judges, though.

and what would that matter since none of those you just mentioned have a vote in the matter of appointees

What is the inevitable the only inevitable I see right now is the shrinking gop demographics and even if they take the senate next year they will have defend 13 more seats come 2016 and we all know democrats tend to get more votes in presidential election years than off years.
Oh and "libtards " I hope your not older than 14 cause that is pretty middle schoolish.

Yeah you all said the same before last election you know when Rassmussen,Morris, and all the other fox shills were telling you how it was gonna be and then it wasn't.

I think this has it backwards with respect to judicial nominees. The procedural hurdle should be higher for people with lifetime appointments than for agency appointments and regular legislation.

Oh, and people should be required to actually filibuster, too--not just cast a vote on debate.

We all know its a lose lose no matter what because our government is just too far gone to save but when we get a GOP president back in the White House it'll be worth it just to see libs crying & hopefully a lot of free loaders bucked out the system. Not to mention Obama's disaster repealed.

Does a tyrannical majority control the House of Representatives? Why not have the filibuster there?

And for the record, I have mixed emotions about this. Thing is, there is no doubt in my mind but that if the roles were reversed and Dems were filibustering like the GOP has been for some time now, the GOP would be passing the same rule change.

I mean, I get that partisan politics has something to do with some nominations, for every president. But this has been ridiculous as of late.

Show the numbers where Obama's nominees are being held up longer than Bush's

Do Obama Nominees Face Stiffer Senate Opposition? - Washington Wire - WSJ
Last paragraph of story
Mr. Obama is also the only one of the five most recent presidents whose average and median waiting time for circuit and district court nominees from confirmation to nomination was more than six months.

The New GOP Plan to Block Obama's Judicial Nominees | Mother Jones
3rd paragraph last sentence.
(Overall, Obama's judicial nominees have waited an average of 277 days before getting a confirmation vote, compared with 175 during the George W. Bush administration.)

Pretty accurate description of most liberals. I can think of a few others that begin with C and rhyme with bunts, or F and rhymes with rags.
