15 years as teh HC of the Pittsburgh Steelers. 2 AFC titles, 4 conf. chamipionship game apperances, double digit seasons in the playoffs, one Super bowl title.I just can't see a pro coach stepping into college football unless they really, really love the recruiting aspect of the job.
I don't know Cowher's background. Has he ever commented on coaching college ball?
Jake, I don't think he was questioning Bill Cowher's credentials as much as wondering if Cowher had ever expressed any interest in coaching at the college level. I've never heard that he has. Also, in answer to the original question posed in this thread, I live in Knoxville and listen to sports talk radio - only references I've heard/seen to Cowher taking over are on msg boards.15 years as teh HC of the Pittsburgh Steelers. 2 AFC titles, 4 conf. chamipionship game apperances, double digit seasons in the playoffs, one Super bowl title.
but is there really a lot of talk about Bill Cowher taking over next season? Listening to the radio on the way to work this morning and on Fox Sports radio their "expert" was saying how Cowher's name was being talked about a lot in Knoxville. Other than message boards, is this discussion really going on? I'm in Va. so I have no clue how much truth there is to it but I was surprised to hear him say it.
Him to actually come here. I believe cowher will be coaching soon again but it won't be here. He's a NFL coach and a wanted man. I don't see us winning a bidding war with a nfl team.and Tennessee Football = pipedeam, therefore, by the transitive theory of algebra...Cowher = Tennesse Football
Now you have it...couple that with I heard he bought land in Sevier County AND has ties to the University...what else do you need?
Imagine a fired up coach on our sidelines who isn't afraid to grab a face mask and get in a kids face. Fired up is what we need. Not a golf applause for every bad play. To me that is why Phil needs to step down and that alone is reason enough. Way to go guys (clapclapclap)you were moving the ball(clapclapclap) until you fumbled (clapclapclap) you'll getem next drive, makes me steam. He did it alot during Bama, anyone else notice?
