Tee wasn't even in the same area code with Peyton when it comes to playing QB. That '98 team wasn't even the best team Fulmer had. The stars aligned perfectly for that team. The Syracuse, Fla, Auburn and Arkansas games were all games that needed a few strokes of luck in each to win. Hell we even caught a break in the NC game with Outzen having to play QB instead of Chris Weinke. I don't know that we beat them if Weinke had played. That '98 team was destined to win the NC. There were quite a few other Fulmer Teams that were better than that '98 team but they took advantage of the good luck they had and every game they played together as a team and never gave up. Definitely my fondest memory as a Vol Fan. Just hoping I live to see atleast 1 more. Imo the '01 team was from top to bottom one of the best and possibly the best teams Fulmer ever had. Peyton JR and Sr teams could have given them a run but if you ever get to go back and look at the team roster it boggles my mind how they didn't win a NC with either that JR or SR class. The future NFL players on that team was truly epic. You won't see many rosters top to bottom that were any better at ANY school. It was impressive. Just shows the type of players and elite talent Fulmer brought in year in and out. If he could have at the very least split wins with Spurrier we would have atleast played for 3-5 more National Championships under Fulmer. It just further stresses the importance of hiring the right HC this time.
What's there to understand? How much USC football do you watch? Tee will be lucky to have a job after this season. I would love to bring him on staff but not as a HC.
I'd take Randy Sanders over Tee, due to the relative experience difference alone. Flame away.
Poor Tee. With all due respect - one player at one position does not in itself win a championship. Peyton was watching from the sidelines as Florida's offense put up points. Yes, thankful that Tee was able to carry his part of the load in '98. He deserves admiration and respect for that.
Peyton, on the other hand - all that could be said has been said. HOF in college, pro - two super bowl rings. Charitable beyond the call of duty to his former school.
Tee, at this stage isn't head coach material. Maybe someday, but not now.
