The point is we didn’t beat anybody that we played that was worth a damn. Not anyone. We also lost serve at home 3 times this season, that’s Butch Jones level bad. Facts are facts.

Passing Offense was fun and made us competitive this year.

Rushing offense disappeared against real opponents.

Defense was the frustration and the MAIN problem with 2025 Tennessee. Not sure I would change up a lot on offense but definitely want some defensive coaches gone and major change there.

Possibly, but keep in mind that the worse seasons of Heupel (2023 and 2025) are comparable to the best seasons of Butch Jones (2015 and 2016).

Unfortunately this isn’t a school course where you have ABCDEF. It’s either pass or fail. We can’t be on moral victories in year 5. Playing with and winning are entirely different…yes we beat Bama twice (at home). Still can’t win in Tuscaloosa nor have we beat UGA. Next year we have LSU, Texas, Auburn, Bama @ 🏡 with road games at A&M, South Carolina, Arkansas and OU….thats a tough schedule.

We missed a golden opportunity this season to keep the momentum. Now we need to reset because it’s obvious what we’ve done hasn’t worked against ELITE competition.

Oh I’m very much in reality. I want this program to be among the best of the best! And there’s work to be done. I’m not saying we’re awful, but we have changes to make.

You can’t tell me this team didn’t quit today. Most points Vandy has scored on us in 100 years….that’s embarrassing. Is it fixable? Time will tell.

The Georgia game was the one time this year we looked like we had some real juice. Georgia struggled early because we finally rolled out new stuff they hadn’t seen on tape. They didn’t have enough film to game-plan for it, which is why it worked… for a while. But that also proves the point: when we add wrinkles, we can compete. When we don’t, our offense becomes predictable fast.

Aguilar was definitely an upgrade compared to what we’ve had the past few seasons, but the system around him is still too easy to diagnose. You can only go so far when defenses basically know what’s coming.

And then there’s the discipline. Penalties, mental mistakes, sloppy execution...it’s frustrating to watch. You can’t talk about having “championship-caliber defense” and then fall right back into mediocrity. The inconsistency is the most disappointing part.

Overall, it just feels like we haven’t evolved since 2022, and whatever spark we had that year has completely disappeared instead of becoming a brand of football we can be proud of.

If we are so bad and poorly coached, how did we almost beat a great Georgia team?

Exactly. Let's resolve the defensive side of the ball which is near the bottom of the SEC before we wholesale make changes on offense.

I’m talking about the present, you know this year. How many big teams did we beat?

Hold on now lol. Dont change the subject. I didn’t say we were bad in general. I said that we have to make changes and tonight was unacceptable. We got embarrassed.

I loved!!! The Georgia effort. But that team in week 3 got worse in week 12. Would you agree with that? Because if we can’t, than we’ll just have to agree to disagree.

lol that’s not the answer. I love Tennessee. I will always bleed 🍊 I love the fans and I appreciate what Coach Heupel has done. I’m not saying we’re awful. I’m saying we need to make changes.

And we can!!! But I also know that what I watched tonight wasn’t good enough if we’re going to compete for SEC and National titles. Which should the goal imo.

You got to have the right QB. A.guy that is a threat with his legs as well as someone that can hit the deep ball.. Joey was a tire patch, he had limitations that teams finally figured out and exploited after they had seen enough film.. The QB is unaccounted for a lot of times. I think Tennessee didn't keep teams honest enough with that aspect.

Miss St played several close games and lost this season so you’re ok with that?
We made a mental mistake that cost us yards and probably unsettled our kicker against Ga.
Nether should have happened especially against a top ranked rival that we hadn’t beaten in years.
Bottom line we lost against a big boy team.
