Not enough playing time....

Chryst can only play this year, which is a shame because I think he would be a stellar leader if he had one more year for us. Those throws he was putting on Bammer , looked good. That's the best team in America he played and he wasn't scared at all
"The reason for the 2nd quarter success is we gave them some looks they haven't seen" (CJP). He's had 5 years. One more year isn't going to be anything different than what JG could offer.

There were several times yesterday where KC had more time to throw. A friend of mine asked this question, is the OL blocking better for KC? At first I rejected that as a possibility. But could it be? While I do agree KC seems to have a somewhat quicker release. But we have seen JG have a quick release as well. Its a little confusing.

KC looked good yesterday. But context matters. KC didnt start a ton of games for Stanford and hasnt for us. He is big and for the most part, undamaged. JG has taken an absolute beating since being named the starter. Now the difficult part of the schedule is over. If KC is the starter from here on out, he will not face any really good defenses. He is also very fresh not having to absorb anywhere near the hits in 4 years that JG has taken in a year and a half.
Keller lost his job to a better QB at Stanford after injury. I am not willing to say JG is a better or worse QB. Some of the punishment JG has endured is of his own doing which brings us back to the question, why is it he is always taking a beating? My opinion is that it is a combination of both line play and his play. Having a quick release is only good if you can read what the defense gives you. A lot of JG quick release appears to be timed slant routes where that was the only option and he was gonna throw regardless. Not sure if you saw the play yesterday where I believe he had to call a timeout because he looked a little frustrated trying to get the play in from the sideline, that spoke volumes to me, he was not calm.

You do realize that is coach speak to quell any controversy right?

KY has a good defense, but it is their run defense that really shines. We're apparently going to get the lions share of our yards from the air this season, so maybe it doesn't matter as much against KY.

“They had a really good plan against us. They had us confused in the second quarter. We played nickel in the second half against some of their stuff, and we were able to adjust a little bit better" (Nick Saban). Is this the coach speak that Pruitt alluded to or?

Question, was Keller getting hit left and right yesterday? I only ask because he played a little more yesterday than JG. Why does the talking need to stop? Observations of yesterdays play does hold merit.
He completed 2 passes while getting hit on blitzes and one fell incomplete. He seemed to do well under pressure. That's just in the highlight film though.

Why isn’t guys like Chance Hall, Tyler Byrd, Chryst and Quart’e Sapp not on the field more??? Even Juan Jennings was played a lot more against Alabama. It was good to see Tyler Byrd this Saturday, as well.
Hall is half the player he was early in his career due to his numerous injurues

Byrd isn’t as nearly as good as the WRs playing ahead of him.

Chryst is the backup qb to a younger, more talented qb that beat him out, easily, in fall camp.

Sapp was injured early in the season, then had attitude issues....he’s now playing a good bit, but Bituli and DKJr are ahead of him

What do you mean “even Jauan Jennings played a lot more against Alabama”? JJ is one of the 3 starting WRs and is easily one our best playmakers. He’s been playing a lot for weeks....he’s now our leading WR for the season. Where have you been?

Been watching him block and helping bust some runs, thought he deserved the ball more

I sincerely think something is off. They're both behind the same line, and JG gets brutalized, while KC has more time. I have no doubt JG has more talent, but maybe there's friction. Maybe I'm over thinking it, but it makes you wonder.

I personally think KC sees more than JG and is able to adjust the protections or react better than JG. To me the difference is between the ears, plain and simple. No doubt JG can make the throws when given time but I've not seen anything from him this year to make me think he's mentally ready to be an elite QB. I personally think UT would not have an offensive TD if KC doesn't come into the game. I've been hoping all year that KC would get a chance to play and now I want him to play more. Unfortunately I don't think that will happen because I think JG is being played but CJP because he is our future unless Strout beats him out next year. And all of you that say the best QB is playing should remember that the best player in practice is not necessarily the best player in a game. I have no doubt that JG will be the starter so long as he is healthy but I really wish KC could get some meaningful playing time.

The problem at QB is you can only play one guy and you with to me both Chryst and JG being equal you want to play the guy coming back and get him all the experience you can. This season Looks like Pruitt is trying to get younger guys experience so they will be a lot better next season. If you have a young guy and a senior and they are about equal in playing ability you play the young guy the most because he will be around to help you win next season.

Pruitt said he punched a Bama player. I didn't actually see it, though.
I was watching. It was dumb. They were mouthing off at each other an Taylor just slapped him on the helmet right in front of the official. Frustrated, I’m sure but dumb none the less

Taylor should have done what the Bama guy did last week. Punch him three times on ground. Then there would only have been a penalty.
