Not another DC rumor thread

If I were a DC. And I were offered this job, there's no way I take it,being a top DC.There's too much bickering going on. No stability within the coaching staff. I am a true Vol through and through. But why would anyone worth a damn want to come into this situation. Fans are about to drive themselves crazy,Hc is on the hot seat and if next year doesn't produce 8 wins atleast they will lose all support.Atleast thats the way the fan base is talking.I have never seen UT athletics in shambles the way we are right now.I am 31 yrs old. I don't remember it ever being this bad.
This is not the product I wanna see at my alma matter.I don't even wanna see it this bad at UTC.Bottom line is we have to support our HC.I'm sure this is taxing on him aswell. He was the only one who wanted the job when we hired him,So lets give him our full support.

And what did CDD say - he's the only one in the organization that knows what's going on - then show us - sorry I've just not seen it and doesn't look like we'll be wearing shades anytime soon.

Lets be real honest here. We really do not know what to believe on this site anymore. For days we were led to believe that Randy Shannon was a done deal. Do really even know for a fact that two or three people have turned us down ? No, we don't know anything for a fact, in regards to DC at Tennessee !!

If you give CDD this one year to turn things around and he does, then everyone will love him except for a few haters. What I am trying to say is, we have him another year at least. I say hope for the best coaching hires and CDD success, because to go through this all over again and still not have a great hire at HC would really bring this program to its knees.

The Dc hire is getting real old real quick with all the insiders and their information. I prefer CLT be named on get on with hiring position coaches before 1/13/12 JMO

Agreed. Whatever mastery in misinformation we had going on in week one has devolved into a deluge of bad press from either depressing true leaks or laughable bad leaks.

I'm teetering towards negavol territory.

Just spoke with some pissed Clemson fans who told me Steele was offered the DC job at UT, but turned it down. Said another coach turned the Vols down also. Could it be that the uncertainty of whether Dooley will survive next season have anything to do with this?

Good post but its pretty hard to support a guy who has only had 1 winning season in 5 years as HC, ended the streak, and gave TN its first consecutive loosing seasons. The guy has a bad track record jard to believe he will do anything but loose. He would be a great AD though.
