Not a single person picked UT

Plus, our guys still feel the sting of the past 2 years, knowing they had the game won, but let it slip through their fingers. You know they have been thinking about this game since last year.

Florida, on the other hand, has no respect for us. They believe they only have to show up, and they have the game won. That's a recipe for us to pull this off.

You're a heck of a mind reader. :) but I hope you're right, bro.

On Championship Drive or CFB Daily. Several comments on our lackluster performances against App State and Ohio. No one believes missing LDR will matter for Florida. This is just sad. Only way to change the perception is to go out there and win this thing Saturday.

Who cares? When they do pick us, we lose anyway

You make that remark looking clueless. They make money by having the action spilt. My opinion is a 9 point dog in UF would not produce a split at all.

It won't stay at 9. Early money on the Gators will drop line to 4-5 or lower. Then comes the late money on the Vols and, voila, Vegas gets their split, or closed to it. You are correct; Vegas does not care who wins. They make their money on the "juice".

Appleby or not, the gameplan will Floriduh will be to hand the ball off. Our D is suspect and we'll see how they do. On defense they are gonna crowd the line and force Dobbs to pass. It's not rocket science!

this defense won't have to crowd the line. now, if they wind up having to bring a 7th or 8th guy....that means we're doing something no one expects us to be able to do.

so i'm for it.

It's going to be a sloppy ugly low scoring defensive battle that comes down to special teams

I'm may one of the few who doesn't see a defensive battle quite the same way. Offenses can be flashy and be very entertaining, but there's nothing that beats watching a determined defense come in and cause a high power offense to become completely frustrated and unravel. Probably why so many of us who were around will always refer back to the '86 Sugar Bowl as the game. Chaos can be much more entertaining than watching a carefully choreographed offensive plan play to perfection.

I understand their thinking... but find it interesting that they're more impressed with UF who has beaten three bad teams. Against arguable the lesser two teams, UF's O struggled to move the ball effectively at times.

It is possible they played as or more poorly than UT but didn't play teams good enough to make a game of it.

Right now... my money would be on the 3 teams UT has beaten against any of the 3 UF has beaten.

PS- Don't forget that talking heads get paid to talk... and not to be right. If these guys were ever required to reach a certain % accuracy.... they'd all be out of jobs.

I loved to hear the doubt on TV last night. They had a guy on from Scouts Inc to discuss "the game" but all he did was show 5 minutes of film on how stout Florida's defense was. Said Tennessee "might" have a chance if Dobbs used his legs. If you hadn't been paying attention to either team this year and did not know the results of previous games, you'd gather Florida was favored by a decent amount of points based on their discussion.

When the media expects things from Tennessee we play worse.

I think it could be one of those games that goes the opposite of what you might think. I'm not sure UT can stop a good run game with Jumper at LB. They'd almost be better off playing a dime and play Foreman and Gaulden like LB's. So even if the passing game isn't good for them, they will probably be able to move the ball and get chunk plays in the run game.

At the same time, UF really hasn't played a decent O yet. I strongly suspect we'll see Hurd in the I this week then a healthy dose of Dobbs running the ball. UT all around is better and more talented by a wide margin than any O they've seen this year. The last good O with a power run game they played... put 41 points and over 500 yds of total O on them.

If we lose ill be upset like most people on here but I definitely wont lose sleep over the gators.

You missed out on hooked on phonics.

I wasn't talking about wins or losses, Jughead. I was taking about the OP having their panties in a bunch over predictions.

I thought my late Mother and Grandmother getting worked up over a plot line on,"As the World Turns" was dumb. Some of you all either need stronger medicines, or to stop taking them. If one don't work try the other.

From what ive seen so far this season, I just dont see how we can win this game. Especially losing Sutton and Kirkland on D. I really really hope im wrong!

It's about match ups . Hard to ignore what FL has been on defense, and what we've not been on offense.

What they've been on defense?! Who have they played? UMASS KY, N Texas!!!! Lets hold off with the Gator Defense Worshiping until we see them play a real contender...3 days....3 days and we will see how good they are!! GO DAMN VOLS!!!!

Can you really blame them? What have we done in the past 3 weeks leads anyone to believe we can beat them? Missing LDR likely wont matter that much. Their defense is elite and will be a supremely difficult challenge for our porous OL.
They beat us with friggin Treon Harris

About halfway through this current 11 year slide I started betting on this game every year. Bet on FLA every year hoping beyond all hope I finally lose the bet. I bet with several friends for nice bourbons, rounds of golf, steak dinners, cash. Last year, I didn't place many bets and I played both sides as a hedge because deep down, I knew we would win. I just knew we would beat Oklahoma too. With the injuries, and yes ..that's just part of it, and the terrible O Line play, watching the first three games and understanding the dynamics of the last eleven years....from a business standpoint, I just cannot bet on the VOLS. We had our best chance the last two years. I see FLA only getting better in the years to come. I think we've plateaued under Butch. Lord only knows how long this slide will last and I hope again I lose the bets I've made and I'm wrong about Butch.

Dude. I appreciate the passion and enthusiasm ,.., but.

Their defense is good. Saturday will be big step up in the talent level they've faced, but that works against us too.

It doesn't matter if we have the 1998 team this year and FL is 0-3, it's going to be a hell of a game. It always is when the talent is closer.
