It's easy to do well with someone else's recruits. I wonder how well he would do in the SEC recruiting

His recruiting at Memphis has been best they’ve ever had. He’s doing a lot more than just “doing well with someone else’s recruits”. Also doing better than predecessor.

He’s a much better recruiter than Fuente. It’s not even close. If anyone believes he is successful because he is playing with Fuente’s guys, they arent paying attention. He has totally remade the Tigers. He’d kill it in recruiting in Knoxville.

Who thinks that a Memphis/Tennessee game would end well for us right now? I think it would be disappointing for our fans. So how can we turn up our noses at their coach?

Thought about this the other day. Thank God we got out of that situation while the getting was good.

I'd take Norvell over Schiano, Mullen, Brohm, and most others that aren't Gruden and Petersen everyday of the week and twice on Saturday.

Watching the UM-ECU game right now and its a boat race already in the first quarter, the Tigers are solid. Something that stands out to me is the impact of walk-ons through-out the season. They have clearly developed their talent and are reaping the rewards as a result. This is a sign of a good coach and staff.

I'm a Norvell fan, he has improved recruiting beyond what Fuente did and has a crazy good offense.

My opinion matters just as much as everyone else's on here (which is to say, not at all) but I thought I would contribute to the chaos. :)

I will mention that their WR Anthony Miller (my HS alum) came on while Fuente was the coach. Not saying what you are saying doesn't have merit, just that he was during Fuente's time.

Great thread. My blood runs orange but it has been a pleasure watching Norvell coach this year. He is self made like Dabo at Clemson and I think he will be a top P5 coach.

Butch sucked at development, no doubt. However, Riley didnt want to wait behind Dobbs. And he got 4 years before he had this breakout season.

Not accurate, RF was ahead of Dobbs on the depth chart, did not want to sit behind Worley, got pissed, and left. And yes he could cut it here, just immature.
