'25 Northwestern Transfer OL Josh Thompson (LSU)

Oh no we didn’t get a guard from Purple Vandy, might as well shut the whole program down
I've learned they do not like to be called purple vandy. One threw a bottle at me during that bowl game for calling them that. What a day. We had an FSU fan in front of us with Nazi tattoos. Had a Tennessee fan hop in our car at a McDonald's 45 mins away from Tampa on the way there that morning.

Either we're a poverty program or we're saving our money to go big on the 2026 recruiting class.

If we don't have a top 5 class in 2026 I'll just start to assume we're a poverty program that can't compete with the big boys in this new age of NIL.
LOL we said the same thing about 2025. It was said that CJH used NIL funds to retain the Oline and we would go full hog in the portal in 2025. Well...

Im good on not breaking the bank on an interior Lineman.

Off. Tackles, Edge Rushers, and playmakers ideally should get $$$$$$$$

The issue seems to be we aren’t willing to overpay for anyone and I’m not saying I disagree with it in an ideal world but sometimes you have to if you truly want to compete. It’s possible to not overpay and compete if you run an extremely disciplined program but we don’t so it is concerning but not the end of the world

LMAO at the excuses coming in now per usual with this site... We have a glaring need for Olinemen, he was going to come here, but we got outbid and let him walk.

that's it.

We are not willing to take the next step. Period.

Our women's basketball program will win a natty before our football program does. Wonder what bowl game we will go to next season?

We apparently don't have anywhere near close to the money most other programs have, especially in the SEC and upper tier...

Another one of your dumb takes.

Stop posting and save yourself from embarrassment.

Lol what the hell are we waiting for?? If this staff only waited until the portal opened up to start identifying and reaching out to players, they've already missed the boat!
I don't know if you know, but there are some teams still playing bowl games and will have portal players after their games. Don't tell anyone else though. Let them freak out like you're doing.

Before that, when was the last time we were really relevant, 2007?
How is that relevant since a new era of college football started 3 years ago? The Mets reference was about spending, wasn’t it? The theme of the day is that we are a poverty program at 30-9 the last 3 seasons after wandering in the dessert for the previous 15.

We are paying Nico $2 million per year- the first real aggressive offer to a high schooler. We are aggressive with our own players and keep who we want. More to it than just paying portal players.

Define competing. To me competing is having an actual shot at a championship and outside of two years ago the last time we truly competed was 2007.
Didn't we just have a playoff game? Isn't that competing? We were one of 12 teams with a chance to win the Championship. We didn't win, but we competed in the 12 team playoff.
Does your definition of competing means being the favorite to win the entire thing? I don't think we've ever been the favorite to win the whole thing.

Absolutely, said it feels like a loss. Like an old school kid at important position chose other school, after choosing us.

I'm fully aware that half his $ is going to Boo. Truth is we have needs, and we need to go after them. Feel like we arent doing that.

Still trusting in Huep.
He is more experienced, but I’m not convinced we don’t have someone as good or better already on the roster who just hasn’t gotten their chance or wasn’t quite ready yet.

That’s why I said meh.

Incorrect, I stated we do not spend like the Mets or Dodgers but we really are the Mets results wise not spending wise
