Northwestern and what they are saying about the Vols

I registered on the Northwestern board. I typically do with our bowl opponents. I'll be respectful, but I will not take their condescending crap about the South and Tennessee in general.

It's bad. Like Vandy levels of arrogance.

I can handle it from fan bases that consistently win, but NW is all over the place with their record.

One poster made a comment about how after the Arkansas loss, many of our fans called for Butch's head. He said the team and coaches stayed focused and deserve this bowl, but lots of our fans don't. Sadly, I had to agree. The amount of fans calling for Butch's job was an embarrassment.

I've never gotten into a Twitter spat or responded to someone's ignorant tweet, but Aaron Morse may get a smart ass remark from me. That guy is a clown. Even Rucker is talking smack to him.

I love that Southern pride. They should know better than to mess with a bunch of Rebs (the Southern kind). Talk about stirring up a hornets nest:mf_surrender:

That looks like a nice little stadium:good!:.I really like some of the smaller stadiums around the country, Army has a really cool little stadium. Western Kentucky has a cool little stadium too, and the Yale Bowl is an old classic.

Army's stadium is amazing, but then again the whole dang campus is.

I feel like a few of you are the type that goes over to a friend's house for a dinner party and begins to argue that your momma's cooking is far superior. Well....it very well may be but that doesn't mean you should spew such words, especially in their house as a guest.

Now substitute momma's cooking for football and the location of said dinner party for Northwestern's football forum and we have a pretty good analogy going on here. Feel free to appreciate the effort I took to express my disappointment.

Bonus analogy content: You can discuss what goes into said hypothetical dinner. Just remember there's a fine line between discussing and arguing. That one is complimentary from my momma.

My old boss is a Northwestern alum and he has been blowing my phone up all day about how they are going to smoke us.

He dropped this jewel on me, "big 10 > sec east," couldn't even say they were better than the sec as a whole.

He threw in a "remember we beat Stanford, and Stanford is way better than UT" a few times. Talked about how great their defense was, and how bad ours is, etc etc etc

All I could do was laugh it off.

Text him and tell him you embezzled money when you worked for him.

I think its hilarious that some of the NW fans think their going to roll over us. I think their going to be in for a rude awakening come Jan 1st! Go Vols!

I have a high school friend (class of '74) that was our star football player and played for Northwestern in the late 70's. He was a tough SOB DL!

Anyway, I texted him and told him that his alma mater will be getting a orange-tinted southern a$$ whoopin"! He's actually a nice guy and texted back that he's attending the game and was hoping I was going. Not all are arrogant!

1. Most UT fans did not attend the university. An amazing number have never even been there. But they consider themselves rabid die hard fans.
6. If a UT fan asks for your address, don't give it. They just want to be able to mail dog feces to you if NU wins.

First of all, while some of us actually haven't attended UT, if we live in-state, we pay taxes to support the university and therefore have a reasonable connection to it. By his logic, because pro teams aren't university connected, do you actually have to have played on the team to be a considered a bonafide fan?
Second of all, he doesn't know dog from Smokey Mountain black bear. He should have weighed that substance I sent him. No dog on its best day ever done a evacuation that stupendous.

Ummmm yeah. My comment is directed towards the people trolling their board. I honestly don't get why people are getting so offended and wanting to act like a baby about it. It's one thing if they're coming here and saying things but they're not so what else do you expect from a fan board that isn't orange? I can guarantee we don't speak sunshine and rainbows about others teams on here.
