They allow 30 ppg to teams not named Eastern Michigan or Indiana State.

They can't match up talent wise with UT. UT should win this game easy, and get their offense back in gear. UT 45 NIU 13!

I'm pretty sure that's what we all said about UCLA, and how did that one turn out. What do guys think would happen if we were to actually lose this weekend? I think for sure Mike Hamilton would have to put Fulmer publicly on the hot seat at the very least.

I've followed NIU for quite a while. They aren't as good as when they beat Alabama and Maryland (in the same year I believe) but they are generally pretty solid. They have decent size - bigger than UAB and are generally well coached.

In other words, they're not a cupcake.

should anyone other than crompton starts, i say we win big based on whomever gets the start over him will want to prove he can play, if crompton does start i think we will struggle again and be inept in the passing game and lose/win by the smallest of margins assuming NIU figures out that all it takes to stop our offense is to load up the box with 8-9 men and force crompton to lose the game for us.

The fact Neyland won't be full, and the general negative air surrounding the football team, I can see this being a game that could be ugly early with a closer win than those that attended would prefer.

UT probably wins, but the bigger story will be the 3rd consecutive home filed booing.

I hope I am wrong on the booing part.

Even considering the chaotic state of Volunteer football, our talent, size, and depth advantage will manage to wear down an inspired N. IL team to squeak out a less than impressive win. No one, including CPF will feel good about it.

Is NIU where Demitrius Jones from Notre Dame transferred to after he lost the starting job to Jimmy Clausen? If it is, he should be eligible to play. He left early enough last season to sit out last year and be eligible to play this year.

I know this sounds crazy ,but hopefully we lose, so someone definitely have to take a look at making some head coaching changes. I would sacrafice the rest of the season ,if it would get us a new QUALITY head coach.

If fulmer loses to NIU, will he make it through the season? A few years ago at UF, ron zook lost to a terrible miss state team and got fired right after the game.

I find it hard to believe a fan would pull for their team to lose. :hi:

Let's be realistic, please.

NO don't find it hard because i know a better change would be in the future. Seriousy, analyze this season. All we are playing for is a birth at The Liberty Bowl ! Sometimes you have to take a few steps back to get a million miles ahead.

IF stephens is out there and doing good, and we get a big lead, Id say just keep running the score up. They need to take some aggresion out on someone.

I agree with that...we'll stop at around 30 or so if we get there like with UAB. Also..
its ''know'' not ''no''....no big deal.

There is no reason to not have a full house, except for the fact that we have fans that are fans when the going is good. Turning your back because there are having a bad year is or even a couple of bad years is pathetic.
