You are correct, but that doesn't make it any better. Many teams are deeper. I think many overestimate our depth. If North is out, its 2 experienced players. Experience isn't something we have a lot of.
Jackson wasn't our best OL, he was our most veteran OL that suddenly became our best OL when he got injured. This is a result of a dramatic fanbase. IMO Robertson outplayed him at OG and by all reports Kerbyson and Coleman were playing at a higher level. Also remember Jackson got stonewalled by a freshman DT. Not a great sign.
Jackson was also our least athletic OL playing in a system that relies upon taller and more athletic OL.
North might have been our best WR but we'll never know. He didn't get much going with Worley and got 1 game with Dobbs before being injured. He's been injured his entire time here. Can't be the best WR if you're constantly injured and, according to him, he hasn't been healthy since he got here.
To be honest, and this is callous, but I was expecting to lose North at some point this year for at least a couple of game. Same with Croom, Smith and Pearson. We can't seem to keep any WRs healthy for an entire year. Personally, I blame UGA. I think we caught what they had in 2013.
I wanna know how a uga fan heard this before any of our insiders did.
I think you're missing the point of what we were arguing.... Nobody is saying that you care about other teams or this isn't a bad deal or that it makes it better. There are people acting like this doesn't happen to anybody else and are freaking out like they have never heard of this before. Just showing how it does... To everybody... Some years worse than others.
Question for anyone that has been keeping track. If north is serious, how many returning starters do we really have after attrition? How many that have left or injured were in the 18 that we heard so much about?
When people said "we have WAY more returning than anyone else", 1-10 was actually only a 5 player difference. Seems like we are closing that gap quickly.
Dont care about them.Bama and Clemson just a little deeper than UT. Who gives a flip about Vandy? A potential major injury to 2 starters in week 2 of camp is a big deal. It just is.
That cuts both ways. This board also has a healthy share of "dramatic" deniers. A guy leaves.... well suddenly someone who was going to be a "beast" really wasn't any good. A guy gets hurt... suddenly they're no big loss.. This is a result of a dramatic fanbase.
Example of the above. If Jackson doesn't get hurt then it was just an awesome play by an incredibly talented Fr.... and NOT an indictment of Jackson. Also remember Jackson got stonewalled by a freshman DT. Not a great sign.
It is false to say that Jackson was UT's least athletic OG... much less OL.Jackson was also our least athletic OL playing in a system that relies upon taller and more athletic OL.
Well apparently we've lost our best OL and our best WR and we're still 3 weeks away from the season.
With all the injuries, will the expectations fall back to 6-or 7 wins, or will the expectations go up to 9-10 wins?
What are the odds the Vol's have 3 or 4 more players injured before fall camp is over?

Jackson was a loss. A SEC quality staff can overcome such losses.... but it is ridiculous to say that losing a starting OL who was NOT being challenged is no problem.... or that people are being "dramatic" for saying it is a problem.
