North Carolina Buyout??

Do you agree with MH's/DD's decision to request out of the UNC/UT game?

Some of you just can't see the bigger picture because of your 1990's induced Tennessee football ego.

Hamilton is changing the Football Schedule and writing a million dollar check because Roy Williams refuses to schedule us?

The only thing more moronic than your post is the fact that I'm responding to it...:)

It is a fact. Hammy told them he would rather buy them out than give them the satisfaction of a high profile OOC game without returning the favor in roundball.

It's not my fault you cant wrap your brain around such a simple concept.

It's a FACT? I'm sorry, I can't just take you at your word. Where did you get this information?

So, Hamilton is writing a million dollar check because they won't give us a BBall game?
We ARE a high profile basketball team. We don't need a home-n-home with them in order to validate our Basketball Program.

I can wrap my little brain around anything, as long as you can prove your claim.

Maybe not to validate the program, but a win over UNC in basketball certainly wouldn't hurt us any.

It seems like alot of folks think that this will really hurt recruiting, but I'm wondering to what extent to UNC and UTK really compete for players. The last two significant prospects that I can recall the Vols getting from NC were Crompton and EJ Abrams-Ward. I know that the Vols recruit NC but it just isn't as fertile as it once was and has not been for several years now. I guess there's a moderate, temporary image problem associated with the cancellation and, of course, the wounded pride of the fanbase. Otherwise, I just don't see how this hurts the program in any meaningful way.

Were also competing with Butch for players in, SC,VA, MARYLAND, D.C....etc. Butch is winning the recruiting battle with players that are considering both if us.

Dooley has been on the job for 6 months. Give him this season to show what his program is about. Butch is beating us in recruiting because Butch has an established program....not because he is a better recruiter then Dooley IMO.

How is UNC an established program? Butch is a great recruiter. He can also palm a benjamin like nobody's business. His tenure at UNC will be short-lived.

Do you think Dooleys experience as AD had a lot to do with this scheduling decision that was entertained by both previous coaches but never addressed in full?

Nope. But considering how has Dad manipulated the schedule at UGA I think it might be genetic.

Maybe established is a bad word. He has been on the job longer. And until he is found guilty of cheating....he isn't cheating. I hope he is not for his own sake. but who knows.

Where and when did Hamilton say that? I listened to him on the radio and he said that he was canceling the series because they would not move it to another year. If Hamilton failed to get a roundball game before he signed the agreement to play football then he is a bigger idiot than I thought.

The reasons we are not playing UNC are quite simple.

Maryland - Peach Bowl - SMACK
Clemson - Peach Bowl - SMACK
VA TECH- Peach Vowl - SMACK

And don't leave out selling UT fans tickets for $40 to watch Buffalo play.

Scout.com: Should UT play UNC the next two years?

The above link was on the first page of the MSN website today. Most people on this site already know about this situation but now that it's front page news the whole country will know about it too. If we end up going to a decent bowl game next year and the year after, I believe this will never be brought up again. Sadly, though, if we don't go to a bowl game MH has made as a joke.

Umm...it's about 3 or 4 threads down.

From a guy who started a thread on this subject: does this really need another thread?

At least you're admitting it.

If you guys want to cry for days on end about a non-issue, that's your problem. I told you exactly why the game was cancelled and you get all offended because you dun made yer mind up about it.

Sometimes I wish I could reach through the monitor and b*tch slap some sense into you so called vol fans.
