I always get nervous when I start thinking about season expectations. I do think with the roster we have, and baring no injuries (knock on wood), there is a very good chance to get back to the FF. Beyond that … I don’t like to bring about jinxes. 😂

I’m a little ‘stitious myself. 😉
Hopefully, having a squad recruited specifically for Coach Kim’s style will alleviate a few of the issues dealt with on last years team.

I imagine replacing Paige may generate a few concerns but Geno just reloads and continues to fire.

Coach Caldwell just had a #1/#2 high school recruiting class and #1 portal class in the same year (her first year). That was just reported in ESPNW today.
Do you think she is concerned about individual player rankings?
People cared about that 20 years ago. Today, the #1 player is not head and shoulders better than the #15 player. I don’t see how anyone that follows sports can’t understand that. Football, track, softball, basketball, baseball, any sport look it up and you will be shocked at how often a player ranked #1 out of HS ends up being dominant in college.

Man I hope we can make it to Phoenix next year! I’ve already booked an Airbnb and my flight, cause I so believe they’ll be a sea of orange there next April!!!! We have the team NOW!!!

@LadyVol1908 Yes indeed, making it to Phoenix is the goal and as you put it we have the roster to get there. Coach Caldwell has revamped the roster in 1 season at a level no COACH has ever achieved in their first season leading a major program.
She has a roster as good as any team in WCBB which is stated in the ESPN article.
No wishing or pleading for outside players with numbers or stars in front of their name is relevant in Tennessee when this staff has added/retained 7 5 star prospects - 7 McDonald’s All-Americans, and 13 players ranked in the Top 70 in just 1 season.

USC lost players this year because it was all about the JuJu show. With Davidson and Hall coming in, I have a suspicion there won't be much love in Mudville. I don't believe these players will love the role that they will probably have to play, and of course JuJU isn't likely to give up all the shots that she needs to take. Kayleigh Heckel was their point guard, and she got out of there because she said her game was going nowhere. She chose UConn because she knows the coaches will make her better. Lindsey has next year to get her new players chemistry going, but when JuJu comes back, their chemistry will be gone. You can make it if the great players are unselfish, but if ego is in the picture, look for more transfers coming out of USC in the next couple of years.

Nobody left because of Juju, players want to play with her, that’s why u see multiple number 1 overall recruits coming to play with her. Players go through a lot of other challenges that have nothing to do with players.

Thats true for players that are good but are not going to be household names. High profile players from high school who are expected to be impact players may be in for a rude awakening when they join a team that has a player that demands a lot of shots, and a coach that plays into that scenario when this player is on the court. I have already said that Kayleigh Heckel left USC because she was not getting the proper attention because the team narrative was based on one player. She didn't specifically mention JuJu, but it is not hard to figure out. If JuJu played a team game that would be another story, but we all know that is not the case.

Juju is a winner and is willing to sacrifice shots, just like how she shot about 5 less shots per game once a Kiki arrived. Heckel didn’t say anything about shots or Juju, they’re still close if u didn’t know that. There’s a reason nobody was coming to USC before Juju and now she’s attracting the number 1 recruits to play with her. If I want to talk about a selfish college player that didn’t want to sacrifice stats, that was Clark at Iow, nobody wanted to come because of that, proof is Lucy Olsen going after she left. So never put Juju in that category ever, thanks.
