Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2023-24

She also talked to and hugged Flae J, who most definitely started ALL this.

Flae J. Was just fouling on purpose to prevent the obvious fast break for two points ! All players have been put in the position of fouling intentionally. She did carry the foul too far and it was an obvious intentional foul with shots and the ball coming! She reacted in the moment and didn’t mean to start such a show ! The game had gotten out of hand way before that and the referees had let too much physical play go on for too long !!!!

I blame the referees as much as the players. Things were way out of hand for most of the game ! Just My Opinion

LSUs and South Carolina…ugly. This is what happens when the refs and coaches allow the players to get away with murder.

Alot that official fault.
No matter the teams let players push and throw players down.
SEC play rough compare to other conferences
Alot time Tennessee are the ones who other team gets away with mender.
Most of the time Lady Vols don't get the calls

Flae J got embarrassed about being stripped (and losing) and flagrantly fouled. Then Big Mouth Ashlyn Watkins of course had to chime in and Flae J elevated it all by shoving an arm bar into Watkins chin while shoving her w the other hand. They showed another angle replay that showed all that. That's when Kamilla stepped in with the shove heard round the world.

Actually it all started when Angel pulled a hank of Kamilla's hair and the refs failed to do anything about it.

I just wish effin Kamilla had shoved someone yesterday long about the 3rd qtr.

I sure thought AR pulled Cardosa’s hair the play before?

She mugged Cardosa the whole game. AR should have been ejected for the throat strike, instead it was called an intentional. Dawn apologizes but Kim did not although it was clear Flau jae started the fight when she struck Watkins. I assume they arrested Flau jae's brother for jumping onto the court. I did see him being led away in handcuffs.

The story I read said only 5 LSU players were left to play and 6 SC players left to play. Does that mean those two teams must play the first game of NCAA tourney with just those players since every one else got ejected?

Escorted out, but not arrested. He should be banned from attending all future games since he demonstrated that he can't control himself.

No. They originally said that during the broadcast, but they corrected it to the right decision, which is only those involved in a fight, which was Cardosa and one LSU player. The players who were ejected for leaving the bench, will be allowed to play in the first round of the tournament.

No LSU player was ejected for fighting. Kent and ADR were ejected for leaving the bench. But somehow Flaujae shoving Watkins and HVL taking a shot at Kamila wasn't considered "fighting"

Arkansas state vs Southern Miss
Three Women came out of the Seating area onto the Court.
There were wall out no handcuffs involved
If you arrest men and not women that's wrong
The NCAA need to set guild lines for fans coming unto the court.
More important the NCAA needs to stop the
rough play you see in lots of games these days.
Before a player gets hurt bad .

Bottom line the way the official call games help cause these things.
NCAA needs to hire better referee that call a fair game for Both teams.
Don't call over the back on One team not the other.
Refs call a even game everytime would solve alot of this getting out of control.

Depends on her NIL contracts. If most are national and portable beyond college, I’d make the jump. If tied to school or west coast, I’d stay.
Depends if she's got all her degrees she's after.

DDoes she think a Master's degree will befit her more than going to the WNBA now.
Only she might know what she wants to do later in life.
Only God knows the future.

I didn't hear Kim apologize for her player's role in the melee but Dawn did in her presser. Even though Flau jae started the physical altercation Kim offered this statement:

" I wish she ( Cordosa ) would have pushed Angel Reese. You're 6' 8" don't push somebody that little. That was uncalled for in my opinion. Let those two girls who were jawing, let them go at it."

After the game we saw some class when Dawn and Flau jae apologized to each other with some departing hugs.

While I don't condone fighting I wouldn't mind seeing some flying wigs.

That just shows you who Mulkey is. She is an old bully who dresses like a clown thinking it looks cool. Her team took on the bully persona last year and took it up a notch this year. How many parents want their girls playing for someone who says.."I wish she would have....." instead of "I wish it had not happened".....she's just like an old crow hating on everyone and everything. She will be gone soon enough...wait...not soon enough. If you are going to win or lose, do it with class. Kim skipped the "class" class..

LSU/SC: While certainly an entertaining game (and the fight meant that NCAAW was the lead on some sportscasts), there were copious amounts of verbal and hand signal taunting throughout the game that did nothing but raise the temperatures of both teams, ultimately culminating in the "brawl".

I see the officiating as being half responsible. Restore sportsmanship and penalize the taunting right away to avoid this type of powder keg ending that ended up overshadowing what was a great game and gave ammo to those who are the enemies of great women's college sports.

Well at least two did, and then last fall those two had a major public Twitter war with one mocking the low GPA of the other. So unfortunately, Mulkey has that cesspool to tap into.

Too many 'fans' blab that the taunting pushing, hairpulling etc is 'good for the game', including dumbass Carolyn Peck who said she loved that stuff just yesterday. Then they pearl clutch when the obvious escalation to fisticuffs occurs.

And the poor refs are caught in between fouling everyone in the post out or letting flagrant stuff go until an actual fight ensues. NCAA has to get a handle on the wrestling match post play has become. Despite what Peck says, this is not good for the game.

In fact, the extra eyeballs are mostly truly mysogynous men who get rocks off on watching women fight.
You help break up something like that you don't jump in and contribute.
Like Raven Johnson and Bree Hall, whose immediate reaction was to start getting their own players back in line. Huge kudos to both. Next job for them is get Ashlyn Watkins in line with the culture. She's a timebomb waiting to go off.

Yes she had 2 last year....none this year except No. 97 Jada Richard....and she didn't say "I wish she would have.." last year, she said that yesterday. Those are defining moments. See Woody Hayes and other old people who crossed the line one time too many. Her day is coming, if it's not already here.

Last year in the SEC tourney, Petty fm KY pulled Karo's hair, Karo told the officials, they reviewed and Petty was rightfully immediately ejected.

Yesterday Angel pulled Kamilla's hair, Kamilla told the officials, and nothing happened. Bully for them, they actually gave Angel an 'intentional' for the cheap shot at another player's neck, but that also should have been ejection.

The tolerance of Angel's antics for whatever the sick societal reasons are, is a big part of the blame for what happened yesterday.

As sick to death as I am of Caitlin Clark and her deification of her by the media, this kind of crap is making it easy for them.
