Nobody wants to hear it

First of all, Worley was freaking brilliant against UGA, and if he had not been forced to miss the third quarter with that elbow injury the vols likely win.

Second of all, it would have been sweet to RS Dobbs this year; he is unlikely to turn pro and we may wish we still had him in 2017.

Most importantly, though, is that I just don't see how Dobbs can be expected to carry the ball that many times all season and still stay healthy. If we had been starting Dobbs all season it would probably be him hurt instead of Worley.

Of course in hindsight now that we know Dobbs has had to play it would have been best to put him in that third quarter vs UGA, since Peterman basically gave that game away and now Dobbs can't RS anyway.

Our play calling is awful for the most part. It only looks better now because of Dobbs. Too much Hurd straight up the middle. Really a reverse at the goal line that Pig was lucky to get to the corner on. This offense looks good right now because Dobbs makes it look good. How affective would a little simple option play be with Dobbs and Hurd right now the way SC ran it. Anybody remember watching Condrige Holloway run it for UT.

Not blaming him for the players mistakes. Within the first five minutes was obvious Hurd was beating them on the edge yet at goal line calls two runs up the middle. Then he calls a reverse and luckily Pig bails him out by beating the D to the edge. Then in the second half when we really need a drive, he calls three straight passes USC inability stop run.

The final two drives were successful in large part because Dobbs and Hurd extended the plays and made something out of nothing. It's apparent that winning gives a lot of people selective amnesia.

Or losing has given people selective amnesia. The last touchdown was a perfect play call. I'm not saying he's perfect, he has definitely had me scratching my head at times. But so did Cutcliffe and Chaney, and they're pretty good too.

but CBJ should be feeling embarrassed after last night. We might be the best team in the east with Dobbs starting, and here we are fighting for our bowl game lives again. And on a side note, bajaikan critics need a fat serving of crow.
Butch Jones is a man of integrity and you do not know all the facts surrounding this issue. I think you should take a leave of absence for the rest of the football season. You are a very negative person!

The results of starting Dobbs from game one can be debated forever, but no-one can ever be certain of how it would have turned out.

One thing seems certain - this site is harmful to the UT football program.

I am full Butch , however, it is a shame to think what might have been had Dobbs been playing all season, especially vs, GA and Florida. The SEC East could be ours for the taking. I hope Butch has learned a lesson and doesn't sacrifice another season to "red shirt" a player in the future. We could easily be 6-3 and 3-2 and control our own destiny by winning the next 3 games and playing for the SEC championship had Dobbs been the starter or at least the second team QB when Worley went down.

Stop with the logic, and just be happy about the win. Im sure you're just as angry as me that we won.

This.

We could've started Dobbs and beaten Florida and Georgia and maybe even scored more with Bama if Dobbs had been starting... OR

Dobbs could've hurt his ankle like Josh Smith in what week 3 or 4 and we wouldn't be in this great position now... Two sides to every coin folks
