I am full Butch , however, it is a shame to think what might have been had Dobbs been playing all season, especially vs, GA and Florida. The SEC East could be ours for the taking. I hope Butch has learned a lesson and doesn't sacrifice another season to "red shirt" a player in the future. We could easily be 6-3 and 3-2 and control our own destiny by winning the next 3 games and playing for the SEC championship had Dobbs been the starter or at least the second team QB when Worley went down.

Who are you kidding? Since when does UT have the luxury of keeping its best offensive player on the bench for 7 games? Since when do we have the luxury of throwing games in the loss column because we're playing our second- and third-string QBs instead of the kid who is our best offensive player--and who showed how he can run the ball LAST YEAR? Since we do we have the luxury of losing ANOTHER game to florida--and georgia and alabama? I get that the fans want to support Jones--so do I. But he blew the QB decision--and blew it BIG-TIME. And you know what, he knows he blew it.

Your right OP, no one wants to hear it. There were numerous reasons why Dobbs didn't start the year...numerous. So quit crying.

I think some people expect perfection. 670 yards, multiple records set offensively with that supposedly horrible OL and no sign of north and Malone, you'd think the OC would get some congrats. Instead he gets nitpicked? Silly. Fyi, you don't put up almost 700 yards "in spite" of coaching. Really just stupid.

I would not go as far as the poster...but I think with his ability to escape and keep defenses off balance it would not be a sack disaster.

Great, great night for Dobbs, Hurd, offensive line , receivers.. the entire offensive effort.. what has happened to defense.. great overtime play but during the game horrible secondary play. linebackers out of position, no pass rush...Pray that Josh Dobbs stays healthy...appears to be very poor coaching and execution by the defense for this game...

This x10. The promised redshirt is an interesting twist though. If he did make said promise, I would question why you take a qb that you won't play when you don't have one on your current roster.

How do you know Dobbs was ready the whole time? Maybe you should stop thinking you know everything and let the coaches coach.

Our O-Line looks good with Dobbs even though they are still bad. We easily could have lost Dobbs early in the season by the abuse that Worley took. Enjoy the here and now!

As has previously been discussed, CBJ was obviously RSing Dobbs for good reason. Also he looked mediocre in practice.

Hindsight is 20/20, but let's say he started over Worley early on and blew it? People would be calling for CBJs head for not RSing Dobbs

Its pure speculation to say on here that Dobbs should have started the entire season.. I could just as easily argue that if Dobbs had started, he would be the one on the sideline with the injured shoulder and not Worley. Lets enjoy the win and the fact that we have some hope for this season and our future.

Jones took a gamble and rolled the dice on starting Worley this season.

He lost but it was extremely close with the losses against UGA and UF.

I'd nitpick rolling Thomas out there to repeatedly get beat over questioning going with Worley.

Nothing to be done now except try to win out regardless.

Thought self coordinating was a rampant practice? :unsure: I'm actually upset with these players for botching the coaching job previous to this game. :sad:

No one knows how Dobbs performed at the beginning of the season in practice compared to Worley. Dobbs lacked the ability to start at the beginning of the season for all we know and has progressed to what we are seeing now. So no, I don't think he "blew" anything. We'll never know and using hindsight to justify Dobbs' as our best option from the start of the season is fallacious.
