THE remains of Noah's Ark have been discovered 13,000ft up a Turkish mountain, it has been claimed.

A group of Chinese and Turkish evangelical explorers say they have found wooden remains on Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey.

They claim carbon dating proves the relics are 4,800 years old — around the same time the ark was said to be afloat.

I'll be Debbie Downer and say that the Ararat is Turkey is not the one mentioned in the Bible.

The ararat mentioned in the bible is in Iran.

This made me chuckle a bit...

I'd like to debate the nonsense about the existence of "divinity" with all you weak-minded religious types, but I have to read my horoscope now to see if it's safe to leave the house and to whom I should talk to today.

This is like the fourth time in 80 years that someone has claimed to find the ark.

Question: Why is carbon dating and other isotopic dating BS except when it is convenient for Biblical archaeology?

Help me out here. Am I missing the other pictures associated with this article? Or is there just one that looks like that guy could have easily just taken a picture in the basement of a run down prison?

Because they start at the finish line, and declare what they found is the Ark.

Then they backtrack and pick and choose what 'evidence' supports their preferred answer.

I would agree, but maybe further east. From where Noah was believed to have lived and the fact that the ark was adrift for many days, I would guess that the prevailing winds would have pushed the ark east, not west.

First time with pictures..... :)

Hello, it fits what they want to be true.......

Actually, it's not. Pictures circulated of "the ark" on Mt. Ararat in the 1920's, but they "couldn't relocate it" and claimed it must have been buried in a landslide or avalanche.

I remember reading that as well, later expeditions claimed to have seen a section further down the cliff.

You are better than this, those pictures are of an ice cap. At this rate are you going to tell me the Ararat Anomaly are pictures of the ark?

Oh, c'mon. I put all those things in quotations for a reason. This is a hoax, just like all the others are a hoax. It's just funny how we don't even get new hoaxes anymore. They're retreads.

I also remember reading where many thought the original sighting was a "wood castle" or wooden fort dating to biblical times. If I recall correctly there were some studies of it done before the ice reclaimed it. And before OE asks it has nothing to do with the satellite photos.

Whether this is the Ark or not I find it interesting simply because I am always intrigued by ancient civilization discoveries. Obviously this site was important enough for someone to build a wooden structure of some type on (given this isn't entirely a hoax that is).

Seen on the news where they're saying the scientists took the wood up and then said they discovered it.
