Exactly. Why HOPE they hire someone with coaching talent? It's insanity to actually want to be able to compete 'in these times.' Shame on SC, Vandy and anyone else this year that fires an underperforming coach. Lifetime extension for Pruitt and co!

I think this is the discussion going on behind the scenes. We all know which booster led the charge to install Fulmer as AD. If Pruitt goes, Phil either has to go or will be seen as a person who really does not have the power to run his own department, which means his backer loses influence and someone else fills the void.

Hiring a proven winner and someone with years of headcoaching under their belt would bring nearly instant success in Knoxville. Someone out there could win with this roster. At least compete.

The telling signs to me are the regression of many players. Several players that looked like future NFL stars last season look like they aren't even mid-major talent this season. Their abilities didn't disappear. They are lost and have no direction.....

I mean it’s college football. For these boosters, this “hobby” of donating money to a sport / athletic department prolly isn’t and shouldn’t be high on priority list considering covid’s effect on things that actually matter

We have kept 4 of last 5 coaches too long. That includes the current "coach".
